@@tybulmer4034There is a fic on ao3, "Begin again", that helped me close the loustat story. With the end of the show I could only think that the scriptwriters read it too hahaha

Louis was wrong for asking Lestat to turn her. He did tell him that he would regret it.

@@matthewrobles1743he wanted to save her. He just didn’t have enough strength to save Louis and Claudia both. This will be revealed in season 3.

@@matthewrobles1743 While ITA that Louis & Lestat made some big mistakes where Claudia was concerned, they weren't strong enough to stop the coven, but Armand was, to put it mildly. Armand is one of the oldest & strongest vampires in the world, as he proved in Episode 4, when he knocked the whole coven the eff out, but when it came to saving Claudia and Madeline, suddenly he's "terrified" of them? Boy, bye! For all of their faults re Claudia, Louis & Lestat loved her, in their own extremely toxic way; Armand not only treated Claudia like shit every chance he got, he let the coven kill her & Madeline and would've let them kill Louis, whom Armand claimed to "love," if Lestat hadn't saved him first instead. Armand didn't really love Louis, just the freedom that he represents. For all Louis'faults,he lived and loved on his own terms, which Armand couldn't do. Armand wanted Louis all to himself, but Claudia was in the way, so he got rid of her.

It was a blessing they Claudia didn't go alone and I know she felt loved by Madeleine until the very end. She was chosen by Madeleine because remember they told Madeleine she could join the coven and she declined to be with Claudia, who she called her companion. They expressed their love for one another and died gracefully. From watching the first movie and reading the books, I knew it was coming that Claudia would be killed but I thought she would have her happy ending. Louis and Lestat will forever remember Claudia and they will forever be hunted by her death.

I'm so so angry for Claudia and Madeleine. They deserved so much better and I hope Lestat and Louis are forever haunted. They failed their own daughter, Lestat especially. Don't have kids folk.. don't have kids if you can't love them 😭

Lestat did love Claudia. He wasn’t the best at expressing it. He expressed it through toxic means like he did with Louis. Also in the end lestat wanted to save Claudia. He just didn’t have enough strength to save Claudia and Louis both because he was still not recovered but he did love her like a father. Her death did haunt both of them forever

Louis and Lestat WERE haunted for decades and rightfully so, hence Lestat's remorse and Louis' su!c!de attempt in Episode 5. However, the one who's just as much to blame for Claudia and Madeline's doom, if not more, is Armand. Louis and Lestat weren't strong enough to save Claudia & Madeline, but Armand was. Armand, one of the oldest & strongest vampires in the world, is now suddenly "scared" of the coven? Boy, bye! For all of their faults, Louis & Lestat loved Claudia; Armand not only hated Claudia, he saw her as a threat to his future with Louis, so he eliminated her, which eventually caught up with him, courtesy of Daniel, Sam & the Talamasca.

@@NoorFatima-jr9hh he loved her and he abused her her entire life. Both things are true. And any decent parent would save their child first but he didn't. Louis woild have 200% preferred his daughter be saved. That tells us everything.

@@dolleyes5062 Armand and Lestat both are to blame. If Lestat hadn't been an abusive dad and husband, Louis and Claudia would have never had to escape New Orleans and fallen into the hands of Armand.

@@lawfulhusbands I TA that there's plenty of blame to go around, but the difference is that at least Louis & Lestat expressed deep remorse for their treatment of Claudia & each other; Armand not only abused Claudia, he saw her as a threat to his relationship with Louis. In fairness, didn't want initially want Claudia around, either, but he was concerned about both her welfare and Louis' welfare while Armand never cared about Claudia until she got in the way of his happiness with Louis-which turned out to be based on, to quote Daniel, "a seismic lie." For all of Louistat's faults with Claudia, at least they owned their sh!t where she was concerned while Armand kept lying and playing the victim even after he got caught. As far as I'm concerned, Armand should be haunted just as much for his sins against Claudia, if not even more.
