Louis is not a broken soul the way he was in the book...its interesting to see the passion,the anger and the bitchery that is Louis in this series
@ZomBabeZoe Жыл бұрын
@Gabreya Bradley allow me to rephrase: during the tale he's telling he isn't broken,he is angry and hurt but he is still functioning and showing love and being...well,human. Louis was always the most human vampire in the books. *spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen the finale of the show incoming* Armand is why Louis is broken in the present,he is subdued and sad,he never appears to read or to show much emotion outside of pain... Armand will use Lestat and Claudia to make Louis weak and then keep him basically a prisoner of his "love" under the pretext of "keeping you safe" I'm a big fan of the books,and the series separately, and I am hoping that Lestat will have grown as a person when it comes time for Louis to actually need him.

I literally do not get why (to this creator) Louis is being a "little shit" in any of these clips. Would you want him to sit by quietly in thoughtlessness or suppressed rage? Perhaps you (creator) have a problem with the power he exudes despite the near insurmountable Hell that he finds a way to thrive in? Perhaps its the actor. Do you find him too appealing to suite your social conditioning? Jacob Anderson is demonstrating a depth of character development and overt shape-shifting such that the cinematic world has rarely, if ever, seen. The differential between Louis.1 and Louis.2 is nothing short of mind-bending; even in physical presentation! All I can say is, just learn and grow. This is the most powerful production ever in so many, many ways that cannot be addressed on this site. Just have the courage to learn; especially about those little corners of Self where the Shadow lurks. Perhaps it is you that is the passive-aggressive "little shit"! Just GROW!

I adore Louis. He's my favourite character and I will defend his rights and wrongs as long as there are fan spaces on the internet. While Lestat wasn’t perfect Louis complained a lot and was unfair by taking Lestat back. All he did was mope around again and then decided to kill him. Not fair. Why bother taking him back?
@politemenace5781 Жыл бұрын
"Lestat wasn't perfect" is the understatement of the century. Louis acts the way he does because he's an abuse victim who's in denial about being abused and still in love with his abuser. I agree that he shouldn't have taken Lestat back, but Lestat didn't keep his own promises and continued to abuse his family after he claimed he'd changed. So Louis retreated even more, dissociated completely, and Claudia was once again trapped. I'm not condoning murder here, more violence is never the solution to violence, but Lestat really didn't leave Louis and Claudia (especially Claudia) with a lot of options, did he? The real question here is not why Louis agreed to go with Claudia's plan, the real question is if they could have escaped Lestat any other way.
@lexisisk8079 Жыл бұрын
@@politemenace5781 I’m talking about before the beating as well. I don’t understand why he said yes to being a vampire and then took Lestat back after beating him. On Louis end the whole thing is confusing
@politemenace5781 Жыл бұрын
@@lexisisk8079 his turning was not very consensual when you think about it. He was drunk, grieving, in the middle of a panic attack, actively suicidal, and Lestat omitted important "details" like the fact that he'd have to feed on humans from then on and abandon his family for good and that Lestat would always be his superior in every way. Lestat sugarcoated vampirism with nice words that gave Louis the illusion of choice, but it was never really there. *That* is the only bad decision that I don't hold Louis accountable for. The rest is on him and nobody else. The interview (both times), killing the alderman, putting up the "colored only" sign even though a person of color told him it was a bad idea, adopting Claudia, taking Lestat back (Lestat did promise he'd changed, but did anyone believe him?), not burning Lestat's body, staying with Armand for decades (and calling him the love of his life). Louis will make the worst decision possible in any given scenario, that's his whole thing and yes, it is very confusing.

Idk, but I do think that Louis didn't know much else other than Lestat. Lestat was his implied first real long-term relationship, let alone with another man. And maybe he thought he deserved Lestat? Like, even if Lestat was pretty much evil, Louis considered himself evil too and thought staying with him was the punishment and fate he deserved. The two have a very interesting relationship, it's fun to speculate.
