I was fortunate enough, during my brief professional career, to befriend Hugh Panaro (my childhood idol), and I can say with confidence that he is one of the kindest, goofiest, most all-around incredible people one could ever hope to come across.

I hope he didn't let it hurt his feelings when the stupid critics had this wonderful show shut down so quickly. He worked so hard on this and brought Lestat to life so beautifully.

It kills me they never released the cast album that was recorded... the songs are still outstanding so many years later.

I am one of the incredibly lucky people to have seen this show on Broadway a mere two days before it closed. I saw it having been a fan of the book and also of Hugh Panaro who played The Phantom in the first Broadway show I’d ever seen. It was with maniacal irony that the performance of Lestat that I saw was the one where his role was played by Drew Sarich (Armand). He was incredible and blew the roof off the place. I loved the show and him. I have a slime tutorial of After All This Time that I listen to fondly

If it does, it’s on Elton John’s bookshelf somewhere and nowhere else :)

@@renatabruscato in all honesty it’s doubtful it was taped in full as Equity contracts back them forbade it (you could only film 30 minutes of a show for promotional/broll purposes). Contracts allowing for recording of full shows are relatively recent.
