The song is an anti-war song, mainly anti-Putin. Expressed in satirical manner as a critique to Putin that holds the world hostage with his weapons for mass destruction (hence the missiles on stage)...sings about "that little psychopath" making reference to Putin being photographed on the tractor which he got for his 70th birthday and a crocodile - Boris Johnson said Putin was a crocodile that has your leg in his jaws (both mentioned in the song). The crescendo part says -"mama, I'm going to war". ŠČ! - the oldest letters of the Russian alphabet.

I hear that some are calling the song out for its political messages. As it seems to me, everyone sees something different in a song, passes it through their filters of understanding and tries to find some hidden meaning within their experiences and knowledge. This only confirms the artistic value that Let 3 has shown again and again in its original, recognizable and consistent way. The fact is that they did not say anything specifically in the song or called someone/something names, condemned, etc., and this is a clear proof that the song is not political. Not a single word in the song has a political overtone, but it managed to tickle people's imagination and their need to understand the message, which in my opinion is already a sufficient indicator of artistic success. But with works of art, the meaning always remains a secret because the goal of art is for the person who consumes it to experience it in his own and only his own way. So realistically, we cannot condemn a song for its political content because it is only the opinion and interpretation of some individuals, and not a real fact.

@@KakSeZove Actually it is a real fact because the bend themselves said it is the message. They only stressed out that it is not about a specific person (but that it makes sense to presume it was since the current situation is as it is), but about all dictators, past and future. This is not my comment but of the person who introduced himself as penguin, I copied it only because it perfectly explains the point of the poem and I wish that as many people as possible read this and that they don't ask what Croatia is, this is all a parody against the war, I hope that the author of this comment will not be angry with me because he I am spreading it further, but not as my comment but his personal one penguin 7 hours ago My ŠČ! is a song by the rock-punk group Let 3, which won at Dora 2023 held on February 11, 2023 in Opatija. The song will therefore represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. According to the authors of more than 100 reactions to the song published so far on KZbin, the song is amazing - a spontaneous, organic and compact amalgam of metal-rock, children's rosary, punk, classical opera, psychedelic music, marching band, slet (mass games) music, with a concrete reminiscence of chaotic Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, with elements of pop and even dance music. It is already clear that it is the most original song of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, and one of the most original Eurovision songs in general. According to the comments of numerous listeners on KZbin, it is an art song with a strong message, but also a parody. Flight 3 complemented the ingeniously composed music with great choreography and stage performances, so many commentators on KZbin point out that it is immediately clear that this is an original masterpiece, which will undoubtedly be noticed and remain prominent in the annals of the Eurovision Song Contest. The words of the song are cryptic, and they mention the mom who bought a tractor, the mom who a moron, a small vile psychopath, armageddon-nona (grandmother), and they end-up with the line: "mom, I' I'm going to war". The meaning of the word "ŠČ", which is repeated after each verse, is particularly mysterious. The song is intentionally allusive (because Eurovision songs must not have any political message), and has a fluent meaning. Her interpretation is greatly helped by the fact that the main vocalist, Frlja, with make-up resembles Hitler from Chaplin's "The Great Dictator", but also wears a Stalin's mustache, and it is clear that this is a parody of all the "little vile psychopaths, crocodile psychopaths" who push humanity into nuclear war ("armageddon"), symbolized by missiles carried by a bald man with the word "Njinle" (an anagram of Lenin) written on his forehead, although he is actually dressed as Rasputin, which represents an additional transition of meaning and performance into the surreal and the counter-reasonable. The tractor mentioned at the beginning of the song probably refers to the tractor that Belarusian President Lukashenko bizarrely gave as a present to Russian President Putin for his 70th birthday, and which - given that Russia finances Belarus - Russia bought for itself. The word "mother" (which bought a tractor) therefore means Mother Russia, and it is also symbolized by the double voice, i.e. the letter ŠČ, for which there is a special sign in the Russian alphabet (Ŝ). "Mama ŠČ" therefore means Mother Russia, although the song is not anti-Russian, but anti-war, because it "trolls" i.e. mocks and/or ironizes (with make-up, costumes, choreography, words and music) all those (both Hitler and Stalin) who, for the sake of the pleasure of their own domination, turn the world into a private playground of war, the price of which must be paid by the "little man". The words "moron" and "psychopath" are therefore based on all those who start wars, as the co-author of Mrle confirmed in his interview on February 16 on Bosnian television, and not only on Putin, as stated in most media, although the allusion to him is perhaps clearer than others.

Tractor is a reference to Lukashenko's birthday present to Putin. In the song Putin is described as a "vile little psychopath", the vocalist represents Stalin, and the guy with rockets has NINLE on his forhead (wordplay:Nin-Le=Lenin). Mama ŠČ is a metaphor for Mother Russia, and crocodile is a drug popular in Russia that makes people act like zombies. The meaning of the lyrics is kinda obvious now: "Mama bought a tractor" "Mama (meaning Russia) loved a moron (meaning Putin)" "That little psychopath (W-w-war, war) Little, vicious psychopath (W-w-war, war) Crocodile psychopath (W-w-war, war) Mama, I'm going to war" The whole thing is trolling Putin level 10000000

6. On stage symbols: singer impersonating a dictator, precisely he evokes the Charlie Chaplins 1940 movie The Great Dictator. 7. Their outfits: The partially covered drag element refers to people frim LGBTQ+ community being opressed in Russia, and thus forced to hide their true identities. Roses sticking out of the band members asses is one of the trademarks of this legendary croatian band, they’ve been using for decades now, and very often performing with their bare asses decorated with roses sticking out. 8. The bald guy with missiles shooting fireworks references and draws analogy with another Russian dictator; Vladimir Lenin. There are “Njinle” signs both on his forehead and on one of the missiles. Njinle would be like a shuffler-riddle for Lenjin (Lenin on Croatian). This means that Putin feels he has a responsibility towards his famous predecessors and Russias history and heritage so he must act like he does. 9. There’s a “Pajču” sign on another missile, which would be a croatian street slang for “snort!” referencing snorting up drugs through your nose, insinuating that most of the politicians and dictators are lunatics on drugs, Putin being the first one of them. So this song and performance is how this legendary famous Croatian band “Let 3” poetically express their opinion on that topic. In this symbolic and sarcastic way, they criticize Russian aggression that is shaping the fate of Europe just right now as we speak. That same Europe, a home of Eurosong. Full circle, all bases covered!

@@LeniCro There’s also a history of using a term “čupaj pičku!” by members of the band. Again it is like a shuffler-riddle, a syllables order swap: Paj-ču - Ču-paj. Croatian slang generally very frequently uses a syllable order swap method. And it literally translates to “rip that pussy” it would actually mostly mean something like “kill it!” or “nail it!” or “slay it”, e.g. as a wish for someone to execute some task very thoroughly and successfully, use up all the characteristics of a certain object to it’s possible limits, or win a prize or competition. Also, “čupač pičke” could be translated as “a motherfucker”, i.e. someone who is awfuly good at what he does, or simply is a fierce and bold person.

The meaning behind the song actually is deep and meaningful. It's a satire, it's an anti war, anti Putin song, but also calls out all the other dictators. it is not zombie guy, it is rasputin ( he was syco and also wore ocloths wich were identical to orthodox priests). even littel sycopath is reference to historical fact, stalin, lenin, hitler were short in height, putin is only 170cm tall. there is bunch of meaning in lyrcs like šč is 2 letters in croatian alphabet, but only one letter in russiam alphabet and oldest letter. so mama šč is literaly majčica rusija or mother russia..

This song is masterful. It's a whole rock opera packed into three minutes. Flight three has been working on that project for several years (project ŠĆ). The whole project also has a deep message, and it comes out like a rose coming out of an ass. Some people protested against the war by putting flowers in tank barrels. They are just having a great time and putting a thorny rose in their tube. My opinion is that in this way they are prosecuting against all the dictators of this world. So, in a figurative sense, they are saying that they are tired of being fucked in the butt. In Croatia, they have the status of Monty Python, where they have been presenting their performances for 35 years. I hope that the whole world will fully understand this anti-war mastery that they managed to summarize in three minutes. This is their best performance, where they summed up everything from the past that they worked on. This work shows that they are at the peak of their career. They have always been and remain unique, and I hope they will remain so.

The song is about “Mother" Russia, in these times of Putin. It is the Croatian aesthetic-musical response to the current Russian aggression and the war in Ukraine. This is the best reaction to the song I saw! You really gave an effort to understand the song and you were on a right track for a moment but sadly missed the symbolism in the lyrics. There is a super strong message in the song - because of handful of psychopaths throughout our history we have had so many wars and lives distroyed, young men who have to go to war for someone else's gain and greed. Njinle is Lenjin in a specific jargon used in Zagreb, who is the initiator of Mother Russia. So it's not only about today's psychopaths (although it is where we are at the moment), but all of them throughout history. Hope this helps!

There is also the monk symbolics with the nukes and anagram of Lenjin on his forehead. The nukes is clear: Armageddon. Lenjin is the founder of Soviet Union and Putin is known as someone who always regretted that Soviet Union was dissolved, he wanted to reestablish it. That's the reason for the war against Ukraine: Without the second largest country, Soviet Union can't exist. So far the meaning of Lenjin. But there is more, the monk in black apparently represents Rasputin. Read carefully: Ras-Putin. What this means? Putin means "the man who is on the (right) way: "Put" in Russian. Like e.g. Jesus is the way to God for Christians: "Ich bin der Weg" in German. So Putin is the way for the Russian nation, their saviour. While Ras-Putin means the exact opposite. The part "Ras" in Russian means destroying of what is represented by the word following Ras. Like in Ras-kolnikov from Dostojewskis famous novel. It means to be devided in itself, a shizo. So what Let3 wants to say: Putin, the (right) way, has chosen the (wrong) way of destruction (nukes, Ras-Putin) following the (wrong) idea of resurrection of Soviet Union, represented by their founder, Lenjin. The song is full of symbolisms and hidden citations. That's just one of them.
