1:00 is it supposed to be "humility" or "humiliation"? When you look up the meaning for ذلّا, you find "humiliation," which would be the exact opposite of humility in this case lol. So is he saying not to be lenient with an enemy, or not to be harsh with them?
@hanaomar34 жыл бұрын
Sorry I can see the translation is actually unclear there. He's saying don't let the enemy see you in a state of humiliation because they will mock you for it. The line after that explains it because he uses the phrase "shamatatil a'daa" which is from a Prophetic dua in the ahadith where the Prophet ﷺ seeks refuge in Allah from "the malicious joy of our enemies". (sunnah.com/search?q=%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA%D8%A9+%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D8%B9%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%A1) So he's basically saying don't ever let them have an opportunity to see you in a lowly state or condition.
@TheSpiritualMuslim4 жыл бұрын
@@hanaomar3 Aah, I see. I was understanding it as don't treat them in a humiliating manner, from the Prophetic example of treating even your enemies well, to an extent, despite their own harshness.
