Both songs came to him in a dream... yesterday still needed some work done on the lyrics he woke up with the words “scrambled eggs oh my baby how I love your legs” that as we all know changed to “yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away”

I have to correct myself 😅 both songs did come to him in a dream but for yesterday it was the melody he woke up with... the scrambled eggs came later... he wrote let it be after seeing his mother Mary in a dream trying to comfort him by “speaking words of wisdom”🤗

Paul McCartney is an absolute gift to the world. There is literally NO ONE who has showered the world with the gifts that this man has. I fear the day (hopefully way in the future) that he moves to the next plane but feel so grateful that my youth was impacted so intensely by his genius.

The Beatles recorded something like five or six versions of Let It Be with as many guitar solos. Harrison's solos follow the same thread but have just enough different to make each interesting and entertaining.

The Beatles are incredible, they’ve been my favorite band since I was a wee lad and I’m now 59. Damn, time flies! If you’re open to suggestions you should also check out Elvis Presley’s 68 Comeback Special, especially the song “Trying to Get to You” and many, many others. I think you’ll agree that Elvis was not only talented he was also a very impressive entertainer. Thanks and good luck with your channel. 👍

Hello guys, nice to see your channel for for First time "Let it be" is a fantastic song, a work of musical art, a Masterpiece It is his last single released in 1970 (it was #2 in England) and it is on his last album (self-titled) but it is not his last recording (the last recording is the album "Abbey Road" from 1969) Everything that can be said about The Beatles is insufficient The Beatles were the most important group in the history of rock & pop music, the most influential for all who followed them, and the most revolutionary for culture. I had the great joy and excitement of seeing and hearing Paul McCartney interpret it on his last visit to my country Argentina two years ago In my opinion and personal taste "Let it be" is in a double Top 10: in the best songs of The Beatles in the McCartney's best compositions (including his post-Beatles career) my personal Top 10 of Beatles (in chronological order): She loves you All my loving A hard day's night Here there and everywhere A day in the life The fool on the hill Hey Jude Revolution Something Let it be and the final middle of their last recording album "Abbey Road": "Golden slumbers/Carry that weight/The end" (You could chose someones from this list to continue your reactions) I hope to follow watching your videos of Beatles or other artists of interest I leave you a cordial greeting from Buenos Aires, Argentinai

The whole _Let It Be_ album (almost) - except "Across the Universe" had been recorded in early 1968, and kept (generallly) unreleased until 1970, and "I Me Mine" had been introduced by George during the January 1969 sessions, and rejected at the time, and only finally recorded in early January 1970, by Paul, George and Ringo, as John had quit the band by that time.

@@alanr4447a Yes that's right, basically the 'Let It Be' album was a collection of unused songs recorded with George Martin at the helm, while the 'Across The Universe' song was mastered by Phil Spector, criticised for having an over indulgent string section, which Paul wasn't so happy with at the time, but a great album nonetheless in my opinion.

The original album had a booklet that had various conversations between the Beatles from the Let It Be sessions. In it Paul said that he originally used the words “Maharishi came to me” in the title song, but decided to change it to “Mother Mary came to me”. Let it be was a favourite saying of the Maharishi when explaining the practice of Transcendental Meditation - it was supposed to be an effortless process and if you started using effort, just let it be.

still gets me everytime...as a kid going to Catholic school in the 70s..it had such a gospel Church feeling...when he said mother Mary comes to me..I thought he was talking about The Virgen Mary.

I like the album version better with the heavier guitar solo. Also had a few more Let It Be's at the end. That version has 3 rounds of Let It Be's at the end where this version only has 2. Changes the answer to how many times does he sing it.

Yep, a "standard stanza" with a single refrain would have 7 utterances of "Let It Be". Each additional refrain would add 5 more. The whole song consists of a single-refrain stanza (7), a double-refrain stanza (12), the instrumental, another refrain (5), and finally, in the single version (heard here), a double-refrain stanza (12), and in the album version, a TRIPLE-refrain stanza (17). Grand totals: Single version: 36 Album version: 41

Yes but the stress he was going thru was about the band breaking up and the turmoil he was going through-- so when he says, "Though they may be parted- there is a still a chance that they will see an answer- just Let it be" he was referringto John, George, and Ringo - Its About THAT & to inspire us All❤❤❤❤

Until I had first heard that story about this being Paul's mother, Mary, I thought this was a Catholic song, speaking about Mary, the Mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; especially with the organ music, and "words of wisdom". I am not Catholic, but I imagine many Catholics growing up at the time would have thought so, as well.

It was about his mother coming to him in a dream telling him to let it be when he was upset about a lot of things. But that people can hear it as mother Mary in a religious or spiritual sense he knows well that worked too. I don’t think it was intended though. I may be wrong.

The Beatles last number one single in the U.K. was the ballad of John and yoko released in may 1969 only John Lennon and Paul McCartney played on that song Paul McCartney played drums and bass guitar on that song no Ringo no George Ringo was making a movie and George was on holiday

McCartney was similar to film director Stanley Kubrick. Both used countless takes to get the right feel. McCartney would do 40 takes on some songs. Drove the other guys nuts.

New subscriber here like you guys have you considered some great 90s music like Oasis or Alice in Chains or who I consider the Beatles spiritual successor Radiohead they do not sound like the Beatles like Oasis but their musical journey is very similar they write some beautiful stuff with unusual chord progressions and choices and really changed up their sound from album to album just like the Beatles I would say try just,Fake Plastic Trees,Street Spirit,High,High and My Iron Lung and Paranoid Android for earlier rock band sound I am sorry it is High and Dry and then you have to do Everything In Its Right place right after that to see the left turn they took then its just beautiful stuff like Reckoner,Nude,All I Need,Codex and Daily Mail and for more intricate stuff Bloom or Weird Fishes all must be from the BASEMENT you can see them in action and everything sounds incredible try this rabbit hole I very much doubt you will be disappointed.

You've got the wrong version! You should have listened to the album version, with a guitar solo in the middle. The organ solo in the middle of this version is piss-weak!
