#1 feels like a proper guitar solo with bends, quirkiness, feel . The other versions sound much more like pentatonic scale practice to be honest.

Perfect Let it Be/Get Back album: 1. Two of Us (1970 album version) 2. Across the Universe (Let it Be Naked) 3. I Me Mine (Let it Be Naked) 4. Dig It (Long film version) 5. Let it Be (Double guitar solo 1970 album and single version) 6. Maggie Mae (1970 album version) 7. For You Blue (Let it Be Naked) 8. The Long and Winding Road (Let It Be Naked/film version) 9. Get Back (1st rooftop concert version) 10. Don’t Let Me Down (Let It Be/Vevo video version) 11. I’ve Got a Feeling (1970 album version) 12. One After 909 (Let It Be Naked) 13. Dig a Pony (1970 album version) 14. Get Back Reprise (Get Back album/Anthology 3).

For get back id have to use the single version, purely because of the coda at the end. Loved the way paul sang the outro

Here is my list of what I would consider the best mixes / versions of each of the tracks. All of them are in approximate order of when they were recorded, except 'Get Back' which I moved to the top of the list since it was originally meant to be the title track, and 'Across the Universe' which I moved to the bottom of the list since it wasn't recorded specifically for the album: 01) 'Get Back' [Naked mix, with the coda from the single mix restored] 02) 'For You Blue' [Naked mix] 03) 'Don't Let Me Down' [Naked version] 04) 'I've Got a Feeling' [Naked mix] 05) 'One After 909' [Naked mix] 06) 'Dig a Pony' [Naked mix] 07) 'Two of Us' [Naked mix] 08) 'The Long and Winding Road' [Naked version] 09) 'Let It Be' [Single mix, with the guitar solos from both the single and album mixes] 10) 'I Me Mine' [Naked mix] 11) 'Across the Universe' [World Wildlife Fund mix, with the bird sounds and groupie harmony vocals removed, and the tape slowed down to the same speed as the naked mix]

Well done, yeah I have to pick with ALBUM version from 1970, it actually I believe is the Last one he actually put down! It is a soaring masterpiece of a solo from George. I LIKE them all but I think that one the FIRST you did here where he actually changed his approach is the best. George was actually getting better at the end of the BEATLES at standard LEAD playing then on his SOLO stuff he switched almost exclusively to SLIDE playing when soloing! Well done.

Thanks for these. Well researched. Now, please have a go at the Rooftop solo (actually George's whole guitar part) for 'One After 909' - a classic, like so much that he came up with and played (the development of that guitar part is interesting, but the final result is so much more than the sum of its parts).
@denisvalente68442 жыл бұрын
George's lead on all the rooftops songs is great. His noodling throughout One after 909 is perfect. It doesnt try to dominate. It's so tasteful and skillful

1. The album solo is iconic and probably the best 2. Let it Be single version sounds more like is trying more to follow the rhythm and tone of the song 3. The Take 1 solo feels like an early version of both the first two mixed together 4. Let it be... Naked movie version idk why but it feels kinda jazzy 5. The Take ?? Solo again feels like an early version of the first two put together, just a bit more developed than take 1 6. Take 21 feels like the Take ?? is developing more even more and leaning towards the album solo 7. Take 27A I find interesting because ti me it sounds like a mix of the original and the Naked movie version
@joereichard52403 жыл бұрын
Take 23 is all time favorite. Now someone needs to put together a split screen montage of the entire song with all 7 leads blended together. Tough but successful would be award winning.🤷🏻♂️
