Do you believe that owning less can make you richer?
We often overload ourselves with all kinds of material possessions, buying far more than we need to survive and thrive.
Consumerism also has its price, as you need resources to stay at the same level as other consumers.
So, many people are willing to work to the point of exhaustion, simply to accumulate, what we could call, 'extensions of themselves'; extensions of their egos.
They think, "I have more, therefore I am more," increasing their possessions to increase their sense of identity.
But there is a counter-movement to the consumerist society in which we live, known as minimalism.
Minimalists are people who turn their backs on excessive consumerism and decide to live with only what they need. In addition to being a current lifestyle trend, minimalism is a concept that people have been practicing for centuries.
He has a sense of freedom in simplicity, in not having much, that many sages and philosophers have experienced throughout the ages.
They realized that possessions do not define who we are, and that the continuous search for external things prevents us from experiencing life fully.
So in this video we will see the philosophical side of minimalism and try to understand why more is less and less is more, and why the ability to let go is a wealth.
