This guy continues to impress. And one of the aspects that most impresses, is his musicality. We are not just treated to a vanity display of pyrotechnics and agility, but instead the execution is always in the furtherance of the whole, as part of a balanced sensibility. He manages to make old standards interesting. It's probable that at this level of accomplishment, melody per se begins to somewhat bore performers. And frankly I welcome a bit of bop or abstraction myself. You cannot after all live off a diet of sugar cakes; nor would you want to. But what we have here - meaning with this artist - is intelligence and proficiency accompanied by a willingness to engage in performances with broad appeal and accessibility. I think he gets a kick out of making other people happy.

Congratulations for this version and for such an exceptional channel! Joscho has always been an exceptional guitarist but in recent times, in addition to speed and virtuosity, I see more contained interpretations seeking the transmission of feeling and art. Undoubtedly one of the best guitarists in the world!!

Joscho. What you are doing is wonderful. You are melodious. You are inventive. You are devilishly precise. Each new video is an extraordinary surprise. You renew the genre...
@NorthCharlton Жыл бұрын
WH says, " You are melodious. You are inventive. You are devilishly precise". Yeah exactly. Outside of classical music, melody seems to be scoffed at nowadays. Yet, it is melody that conveys almost all of the more humanly elevated and benign moods. It may be that some musicians are disinterested in it thinking themselves above it, (or by being obviously below it) in terms of talent. But these fellows, by revealing beauty and proportion in their work, do serious duty in fending off corrosive chaos and nihilism. Their lack of self-absorption is part of why - despite really knowing nothing about these guys personally - I find these particular artists, performing at this level of talent and accomplishment, so impressive in human terms, and why I think the term "generous" is an apt descriptor as well.
