@@nyima04011 Disco dying out and punk music (circa 1970s) didn't have anything to do with why there were not these types of shows on past a certain time in the 90s/00s. Both American Bandstand and Soul Train lasted a lot longer than Disco no longer being around as a mainstream genre. American Bandstand ended in 1998 and Soul Train ended in 2006. There were also other shows like AB and ST that aired during the 80s/90s such as Solid Gold, Dance Party USA, Dance Fever, and Club MTV. I would say alternative music may have had and definitely the popularity of the internet more of an affect on the airing of these types of shows. They also cut out a lot of the Saturday morning programs geared towards children and teens during this time, too which is when a lot of these programs aired.

Jamel, I just love to watch you react to these videos, when you laugh it makes me laugh, when you move it makes me move. Love walking back in time💯🎯

I'm a mid '70's soul train fan, the early 80's it had changed so much, music by computers had already started to suck the life out of music.

This was so funny, but your reaction was the absolute best! You had me laughing so much, Jamal! Thanks for the great reaction.

Lol! This was during the 80's due to the single dancers instead of 70' s where they had couples.

Tigerback 62, I was a teen in the 60s & most were dancing separate by late 60s into the 70s with the emergence of psychedelic/hard rock sound taking over. The only exception were those who picked up with the disco fad which didnt last that long. Im not trying to dispute u, just telling it like it was. I was there.

Oh yeh. Thanks for the flashback. The couples were epic entertainers!
@jeffnettleton38584 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was gonna say. We didn't have the show in our area (saw it when I would visit my grandparents, further north); but, I figured early 80s, based on the clothes. I figured 1980/81, to still have some disco songs and the song came out in 1982. 70s Soul train would be a heck of a lot more fun.

I prefer the couple dancers instead personally. That is me though.

Lol You can laugh all you want, but us old folks loved that shit and used to practice those moves. TV is nowhere near as much fun as it used to be. I miss soul train and the midnight special so much

Jamel, you should react to "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan. Songwriting by Prince, rapping by Melle Mel, harmonica by none other than Stevie Wonder! Be sure to use the official music video...the fashions, the dancing...OMG it will blow your mind. Pure 80s. 😃

Jamel, I never laughed so much!, what a trip, the more you laughed the more I laughed. And this is one of my most favorite songs from back in the day. It brought back memories from just a few years ago, The Dazz Band performed at the Memphis In May Rib Fest and I danced down the line, just like this video, and I was the only white guy there! Man, they cheered me on and we all had a blast, what a good time we had.
