LET L-410 "Turbolet" EGNH EGNS [X-Plane]

A quick flight in Mihaly Alberti's fantastic freeware model of a LET L-410 UVP-E. We'll fly from Blackpool to the Isle of Man in X-Plane 10. Please check out the Channel Introduction video for some background information.

I'm glad I came across this video. I had downloaded this model long before the VC was anywhere near completion and had hoped that the developer made some progress on it. However, I never looked. I'm definitely going back to download it again.

Great vid. Don't know what I am doing though. Nothing different than you did but when I try to start, right engine fire up, but left engine after I introduce fuel reaches 40 spins a little but quickly stops and needle goes back down to 0.

Thanks! I just got this plane for XP11, I couldn't figure out how to get it started, but then I saw those pesky little buttons below that cover. What do you use to fly, some flight stick?

Glad you got it started, it's a great little model. I'm flying with (I think!) a Saitek Cyborg 3D. It's probably 10-12 years old now but still works well enough.

I've had two Logitech 3D Pro's and they are shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. They lose their accuracy within a year. Terrible. I bought a Thrustmaster 16000 with throttle, it's far superior but costs three times as much.

Yes, I am interested in anything twin-turboprop actually, I was flying the Carenado Beechcraft 1900D and ATR-72, but want to explore L410, it looks promising as model and interface.

Good video, how did you remove the flight stick as when I installed this particular freeware model I am finding the stick is getting in the way of some key aircraft dials!?!

Yeah the airplane is very old :D. Idk if anybody cares, but nothing can stop me writing that down. The 1st flight of L-410 (not the UVP E series, but the first version) was in 1969, which is a long time ago indeed :D, and the computer is alright (this exact type is implemented in the aircraft). but Garmin technology is availible only in L-410 UVP E-20 and the newest one L-410 NG.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I had a lot of fun with the 410. It's been a couple of years since I recorded that video but I think it was just a case of moving the eyepoint and clicking roughly in the middle of the door.

I've not flown anything of that sort of size in real life, but it's certainly enjoyable to operate and feels like I would imagine. The L-410 is certainly a distinctive shape and I really quite like it. The best thing is it's free so you can download it and have a go yourself. Mihaly has a couple of nice videos that show the procedures in a bit more detail, I think they're linked from the X-plane.hu project page. I'll try and come up with one or two more videos of it in a few weeks.

Oh that's a blast from the past! I do have it installed in X-Plane 11, and I think it flies OK. There was an updated version being worked on, but I haven't heard anything about it for a long time.

Where's the gp/loc indicator for ILS?

You can see the localiser and glideslope indications on the HSI instrument, directly below the artificial horizon. The glideslope is on the right side and the localiser is shown on the deviation bar.

During start up, you have to feather the propellers
