Ryan, you are single, employed and a very social being with a wonderful support system of family and friends who are helping you toward your goal. No need for explanations to anyone. Those who make it their business to criticize your choices need to mind their OWN business. It's your life - live it your way!

It is increasingly difficult in the US to rent and ever make sufficient money for a down payment on a home. I read of a student who lived in his van for two years to pay off his college loans and save some money towards a down payment. Quite frankly, the “middle class” is diminishing rapidly in this country.

@@fringedwellermccatintyre730 When Wall Street Hedge Funds are allowed by state governments to buy up, in cash, the single family homes normally available on the market, then flip them for double their investment and more, what chance does a young person stand of getting an entry level home with financing. Meanwhile any homes not immediately flipped go back on the market at crazy rents, further lessening young buyers’ chances of saving for a down payment. We are totally becoming the haves and have nots. That’s the stuff revolutions are made of. Totally destabilizing!

You aren't homeless actually you are quite the opposite. You have multiple homes with family and friends. There is a difference between a home and a house. A house is just walls of wood, cement etc. A home is where you are accepted, comfortable, loved, a safe place to go from the world. You are truly blessed and don't pay attention to the haters.

Horses for courses, Ryan - everyone is different. You're happy to live with people, and you're fortunate enough to have people happy to have you live with them. Why pay someone else's mortgage for them through renting, when you can pay your own when you have the opportunity to do so. Main thing is you're healthy and happy and have lots of family and friends. The rest you'll make happen when you do - not on anyone else's time scale.

I lived at home until I was married. I tried to move out a few times. Was told by many why, your living with your Mom and you can help her by paying her money to stay there. I got along with my Mom, and Dad so it didn't make sense to leave. Why waste that money when you can stay at your parents. I think it's very easy to stay home when you have parent that treat you with respect, and let you live your own life even when your living in there house. As well as you giving them the respect also. Now the other side is you don't just take and not give back, either in money or in work. A good deed, does need to be returned.

Really think you should take billy up on the offer to live at the convent! Get one of the largest (mother superior) bedrooms done to a nice enough furnished level and live at the convent. Billy will have the knowledge that it’s secure with you staying there putting off any trespassers. I agree with saving as much as you can instead of renting. We have a housing shortage here in NZ. Rents are over the top at around 60%-75% of the average wage. Several thoughts: Thanks for this video. I've been thinking you seem "aimless" but all along you've had your plan. "It's not good for man to live alone" a famous book says, so there's nothing wrong with staying with others. You do seem to "pitch in" and help where you are needed. While I was growing up, oh, so long ago, my parents thought it was fun to go to open houses for sale, especially the "tour of homes" style, when a builder would open up his development to show and perhaps sell his as yet unbuilt houses. I can still see in my mind, and hear their voices, "Look at this, Fred, what a good idea." Standing in a room, Daddy would tell us which walls were bearing walls, and where the plumbing runs must be, and where the electric outlets should be. How many closets, and where they are spaced? How big is the kitchen? Is there a dining room or are you meant to eat in the main living room? And they talked about the style changes, what was "modern" and what was "classic" and whether anything was "standard." Then we would go home to our rental, and when they finally bought a house where they stayed decades, Daddy would build just about anything Mother wanted, if it was possible. SO, I'm looking forward to what you're talking about, going on the house tours. I do love your cheerful spirit.

Oh, sweet Ryan. My daughter and her husband are renting a tiny little 2 bedroom house and they pay over $2000 U.S. a month plus renters' insurance and utilities. I understand what you are saying about not being able to save up for a house. Even though my daughter and her husband both have really good paying jobs they can't save a much as they want for a down payment on a house in this area. Southern California is horribly overpriced for homes. I wish you luck on your search for affordable housing in France. Your family and friends are lovely to let you stay while you follow your dream 💚

Ryan why don’t you long term rent an apartment at the convent like Sadie. You’d have company and be there to help edit etc and have your friends all close at hand. Wow it’s expensive to rent in France. But do what makes sense to you and suits your lifestyle. 😀

The apartments need to be renovated, which is what Sadie and Mo are doing at the moment, I don't think Ryan has the money, or wants to renovate an apartment there.

I won't say where I live but my rent is around $600 a month for a 4 bedroom house... with a yard... driveway... there is a garage only it's too small to park in... but it's a decent place. Yes in the US... This house is HUGE... and yeah... but it was built in the late 1800's... so it's basically a sieve... as in takes a lot to heat and cool. But at the price it's fine... advantage to renting vs buying/owning is that when stuff breaks... heating, cooling, water etc... I don't have to get it fixed. I just call up the Landlord and they fix it. No stress no worries... yeah.

There is definitely a "roaming" effect with how Ryan comes across but glad he explained. Rock on!

I wish my son could find something to rent! In The Netherlands it’s crazy! We have such a shortage of houses. Thankfully your family and friends like that you’re around and you can save up for a own house! Very happy for you!! 🍀🍀

Hello Ryan, love to see your videos and take on life. I can see you in a convent apt. Near Sadie and Moe living a life where you are close to Billy and family or……..exploring the building and grounds enjoying every bit of the property. You’d be there to help wherever needed and be able to save for your own home. I’m gonna love ya and leave ya here😅. Hugs from sunny Arizona 💖😎💖

I'm in the same boat Ryan! I gave up trying to explain to people that I'm just following my own path in life like everyone should! Life is shorter then you think! Live it up and see all and experience all you can while you can!

Yes! I would very much enjoy seeing houses for sale in France. I look on-line everyday at real estate in my local area, and it would be great to expand what I see into your lovely country.

You have family and friends who are happy to support you in your plan to save for a home of your own. What’s wrong with that? I think they all enjoy your company and vivacity. I look forward to your house hunting videos - I love looking at homes, and it is especially interesting when they are homes in a different country from my own. You be you Ryan ❤
