You should have used plywood instead of particle boards.

I felt your disappointment at the bottom floor beams being completely rotten. You never know why it happened that way. It may surprise you. Chin up!

I can't believe you're smiling and laughing though this whole thing. OMG. If the outer walls don't hold, you've bought nothing.

I believe that long couch was used for boot shining. People would sit on little stools in front of you and shine your boots.

This reminds me of a home my ex bought for my son and I .it had a trap door to the garage. It was great for when it snowed. Down to two car garage and it had such a bizarre unfinished area in the garage it looked spooky because you could see dirt on one side and a weird cupboard door with just dirt ,but a window at the end of dirt to see the back yard. It wasn't functional so I myself thought that's creepy. People used to make up stories instead of making truths about the neighbors negative mindset

Do you have a quarter acre. You can always put in a window or door 😊 some people are just negative, they want model homes to purchase like the best in other things as well no one wants yo fix things. So bravo to you

I’m in America and currently renovating my 50 year old home. I love watching these videos of people who redo homes in much worse condition. It gives me hope that one day mine will be done!

Cher Ryan... Big Hug, Kathleen

Great work guys! Renovation is great. Wanton destruction is not. It's an old building and the character and history should be respected, not just destroyed for fun or because it isn't modern. I fully agree that the woodworm had to go, but some of those floor tiles were old and could have been saved and repurposed - much thicker than modern ones. They would have been great for the kitchen or bathrooms (you could put underfloor heating in first) as parts of France can get very hot in the summer.

You may need to modify your 'French Saying" as for some of your renovation jobs you will need to call on your friends for help and they may only be available on Saturday's as your primary jobs keep them busy Monday through Friday. Choose another day of the week to be your 'personal' quality activity/fun day of the week, at least until your renovation project is completed.... order the lumber for you joises and arrange a time to get your friends together to help you put those joises into your new home. Alternatively, if you have the cash, order those beams to be used for joises and hire someone to put them in for you. Be on site to watch the process and make sure it is done correctly. Be the errand boy and clean up person for this part of build while they are doing it so you are involved and supportive of your expert installers.
