No matter how many times we publicly shame them, people are still walking into the tattoo shop and acting like complete and utter fools. Sometimes there are substances to be blamed, other times people need to find a damn filter for their mouth. And every once in a great while a client will attempt to curse their tattoo artist. As much as I personally disagree with 666 sending someone to hell, a tattoo artist has every right to say they don't feel comfortable doing a certain tattoo. I would 100% rather an artist tell me they didn't want to do it than them doing it anyway and really disliking it.

Satan Karen needs to live up to her religious philosophy: As Satan rebelled against God to do what he felt was right for himself, so a Satanist is supposed to respect someone else telling them they don't want to do a thing. The whole theory of Satanism is for the individual person to honor themselves instead of blind obedience. She was probably a poser anyway. 666 isn't the devil's number, it's the paradoxical number for mankind.

I don't subscribe to religion myself, but most of them view the body as a temple and see tattooing as marking up your temple with graffiti. My worst client story: I was still relatively fresh out of my apprenticeship, so I really wanted to prove myself. This girl wanted "happiness" with a straight line beneath in and then "everything" (happiness over everything). I was using a 7RL, it was a pretty small tattoo, on the forearm and I have a pretty light hand. This girl wouldn't stop shaking, twitching or moving. She even started crying. I stopped multiple times and kept asking if she wanted to stop but she wanted to keep going. I 100% regret doing it. It came out terrible and I'm so sorry that I put that on her FOREARM

I'm not a tattoo artist, but while I was getting my first tattoo a woman came into the shop and demanded that someone (anyone) tattoo pentagrams on her daughter because they were used as protection in her religion. her daughter was 12 and when the owner of the shop said no she threw a massive fit and told him she'll come back and drink his blood. it was really weird

I'm always shocked to hear people be skittish about "666". That's not even the right number if you wanna get technical about it. I'm especially surprised to hear a tattooer be sketched out by it. But I guess we all have our things. One time, I was working at dunkin donuts and 6 dollars and 66 cents was actually a fairly common total. It was like if you get these three items it will cost that much due to tax. Everybody who worked their knew about it. That and 9 dollars and 11 cents. That one was the most common. Anyways, this dude comes in, orders something and then I tell him his total is $6.66 and he literally jumps a half foot back from the counter. He's like.... no... um... no thank you. I guess I need to buy something else. Lik, I'm not normally like this but I don't wanna get into a car accident on the way home or nothing.... just put like an extra carton of milk on there and then we'll be safe. And that's what I did and then the guy was fine. But that interaction sticks with me to this day cuz of just how shook up the guy was by it.

It’s interesting how some people feel some type of way about the number 666 when that number actually has nothing to do with the devil, also the “number of the beast” has also changed over time, it used to be 616, and a few other numbers. So yeah….666 ain’t that deep, just like most depictions of satan don’t depict him in any way like they are depicted in the Bible and other religious texts.

I think especially with tattoos, perception can be more important than meaning. Most people won't ask if your swastika tattoo is a hindu symbol or a nazi one, so looks are important.

And my name sounds similar to the pronunciation of 6 in Mandarin so many times my students will run up to me saying "666! 666!"
