Do behavioural scientists really think that? My cat meows when one of us leaves until she manages to summon us back. But a lot of animals get separation anxiety, it’s pretty well known, I don’t think animal scientists are suggesting cats forget about people when they’re not there.

@CylindricalWhistle3 жыл бұрын
@@spooniesarah This is a HUGE problem with animal intelligence/cognition tests in general. We expect animals to react in a certain way and if they don't, we assume they don't understand or are unintelligent. The famous 'mirror test' (putting a mark on the animal and seeing if they try to rub it off when they see themselves in a mirror), for instance, has run into this issue. How do we know if the animal can't tell that the mirror image is themselves, or if the animal simply doesn't CARE about it? For example, most elephants won't pass the mirror test, but how many elephants actually care enough about some mark on their body that they'd try to rub it off? Basically, when looking at animal intelligence, it's important to consider that not all animals behave like people, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's because they're too 'dumb'' to.

With or without buttons… If you don’t think dogs try to teach us their language, you have simply never had a dog as intelligent as my dog. It obviously bothers him that his humans are so slow to understand natural canine communication. I have watched him try desperately to teach me his word for “water” and “food” and “outside”. What is the difference in his own language and a button? Dogs have been ringing bells to be let outside for decades.

I wonder if Billi could understand traveling. For when they order stuff online. So they could say bunny traveling when something will take a few days to arrive

My cat came running into the room looking for the squeak! 😂 I’m loving your videos, what a wonderful thing to show the world!

My cats favorite toy bear "kicker" has now changed to a crinkled stiff one he does not like. Still on the hunt for the old version! 😂😭

Billi can be such a Karen and I love it. She immediately demanded to speak with the manager (Dad). Kitty Karen to the max.

My cat companion heard that toy and started running around the front room, looking everywhere for it. I need to get that for her.

Poor Billi. She waited this long and she gets a rank imitation of Bunny. The suffering she endures… 😉

This is so cool. People who say animals can't understand the words we say really need to look at videos like this.

She expected and wanted her old bunny back. The shape and “name” of this one don’t register; they mean nothing to her. She doesn’t understand why her familiar bunny disappeared and isn’t coming back.
