Truly one of the nastiest in retro gaming. It's fun to play with, but it can legit corrupt a cartridge. Best to play with Roms if possible...

I've been doing the Threed tent glitch in EarthBound lately, and I actually managed to wipe 2 of my saves (I got them back with a restore point, but the level 99 one was fine either way). Also crashed it hard enough to where it wouldn't start up anymore on 2 different occasions.

This glitch also works on the "New 3ds" version and reportedly the Wii U version, it doesn't work on Donkey Kong Land 2 or the Wii version, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work on the GBA version

That's because all those versions you listed are direct ports.

Nic Anastasi The Wii version is still emulation. Rare and Nintendo must’ve either skipped the emulation of something related to the Castle Crush glitch, or it was patched in that version

To fix the colors, you have to buy a S-Video or RGB cables. If you don’t have these ports, the Retrovision component cables are available. And probably disable HDR. Wonder how this glitch would perform on ZSNES, if the game even works on that emulator. ZSNES is made in such a shitty way that some glitches/crashes in games are different from real hardware.

I can say from personal experience that this glitch works on ZSNES.

ZSNES is a fine emulator. Never had any trouble playing any SNES game on it.

@@JayDeeIsMyName its a video search away to see why you should not use it over anything like SNES9x or bsnes. The developer of ZSNES himself recommends to stop using ZSNES. Its terrible accuracy wise, breaks games like Kirby's Dream Land 3, Earthworm Jim, Earthbound. And it also has a security exploit.

I actually temp brick my console doing this. It would do a high pitch noise and nothing would help. Until I unplug and replug my console back in. It is ok.

I have never gotten such a dramatic result. Although most of the stuff in my video is flashy and looks bad, it has never done more than delete a save or 3. lol I've been told you can literally destroy the cartridge doing this though. I would like to pull that off someday.

cactuar2 yeah I ended up breaking the cart at one point by doing it. All the sprites are fucked. But it’s fun playing like that.

cactuar2 yeah it’s that the cart is in storage, I would have to set up everything. My SNES is broken in such away I could cart tip with it. So maybe even some Mario cart and Super Mario world destruction. I have to many of those carts. Also that DKC:2DQ cart is damaged to the point pulling the battery won’t fix the sprites.

@@cactuar2 basically, uh ENGAGE RIDLEY MOTHER FUCKER acts the way it does because an internal memory clock on the console and game are set as if you had left the game on for three centuries something about this code seems to under/overflow the time-played aspect to where the floating precision of your system hardware and the game itself cannot round anymore and on the 3DS it was particularly lethal
