@@spamtonneo6006 Permanently killing the cartridge is just a rumor. The most it can do is damage the SRAM, which can be fixed by simply taking the battery out of the cartridge and putting it back in.

fun fact about the kremlin guy with the swords at the beginning of the level, hes not actually in place hes just walking VERY slowly. I was just able to notice him walk off the ledge of the ground hes standing on thanks to the glitch.

There have been many rumors of video game glitches causing cartridges to "brick," but I believe this is still the only glitch in gaming history that can actually cause a game to become unplayable even after a restart. This glitch can cause the save file to become corrupt in such a way that the game will crash when trying to load the save file select screen, meaning the player can never continue past the title screen! This can still be fixed by removing the cartridge's S-RAM battery for a few seconds and then reconnecting it which causes all the save files to be erased, meaning the game will no longer crash when accessing the save file select screen.

I've been toying around with this on my Switch recently, and one result had me become a tiny hard-to-see wiggling black thing that slowly descended like 1 pixel per second until it reached the start of the level after several minutes of waiting. And then it turned into a Squitter silhouette that turns into a dead Krow silhouette if I move left or right, and turns into a Kleever silhouette if I press the jump button. Doesn't look like I can do anything further from there, though. Fortunately, no matter what happens, I can always rewind or load a savestate on the Switch version to just keep trying different things with it.

This glitch works on the Wii U and New 3DS versions as well (I've tested it on New 3DS but not Wii U, though I'm pretty sure the New 3DS version is the Wii U version just ported over)

@@k2yp705 I tried multiple versions and had so many clips, so I couldnt tell you which one it was, the glitch result is random and I only saw that screen once

@@k2yp705When you preform the glitch, Diddy appears to be holding nothing, which means that the value does not exist. Ultimately the game tries to fix that and assigns random values to it when you throw it. Depending on how much of the level you traverse and the enemies on screen, the result can change. Sometimes the code that is assigned to the invisible barrel messes up the code of the game, so all the values get corrupted essentially. These values are located in the SRAM, so depending on the code you get, you can seriously mess up the cartridge. The anti-piracy screen probably showed up because the SRAM was altered, and the game probably thought you were pirating the game to skip pass the checks. The game breaking events can be fixed if you removed the battery from the cartridge and reinsert it, which should clear the SRAM.

4:00 so my theory is that you made the game reboot, thus checking for the anti piracy stuff, and since the ram is all messed up and not cleared it assumes to be a pirated copy and shows you this masterpiece of a screen. also this proves that you're using a japanese copy

No, the game tries to load any information when the glitch is triggered and it can end up loading the anti-piracy screen for mistake.

It's rumoured that it could corrupt the SRAM leading to a crash when it gets to the file select menu, which would require you to unseat the battery to clear the data but I've never seen an actual case of it happening. If you're worried then emulating it is safer!

Basically the barrel breaks and you're holding nothing, and when you throw it the game expects you to throw something so it grabs whatever it can (an enemy, rambi barrel) and because the rambi barrel isn't correct anymore instead of a rambi transformation it freaks out and uses random code giving these effects
