This one is going to be so dope! I’m glad you’re not messing around with widening the outside fenders, IMO, that would spoil the OEM look. Adding inner fenders is the perfect way to go. Will you be giving it the ultimate WB treatment and lowering it? That thing would be epic if it was lowered a bit. Outstanding content as usual my man!

I would keep the long frame and make an extended cab or a sleeper or a custom tool box. I've seen the long beds get cut down into short beds and I think the long bed is a nicer truck. Cool truck by the way!

When i grew up in flint mi. Chevy dealer you could buy dat bed in pieces and assemble your self..easy to repair in your drive way or you could drop the replacement parts off at bump shop with paint codes and get em painted

I'd lengthen the bed before the rear fenders and cab. Shortening the frame will make the truck ride like shit, and it's more work. Use a chunk of the old bed floor to fill in the space.

It seems that I am not the only hoarder of old metal junk! My wife forced me to bring a an load full of metal to a the scrap yard. I brought an entire van full of old metal. I was amazed how many things I had kept over the last twenty years. There was a trampolin also. I feel better now that the mess is gone. But there is a lot more to dump still.

Don't cut the frame, extend the bed so its a long bed. Long bed is so much more practical to haul stuff. Was hoping to see the flat bed, but this will look cool too! Can't wait to see final result, loving this build, patina looks great.

Would it be easier to lengthen the bed, that way it matches the width. Rick at Classic Truck Rescue made a custom bed that is wider and longer to fit on his 55-57 GMC truck. It is a Big truck. 2 or 3 ton. Called it Boomer. He has changed trucks and is now making a custom Crew cab on a wrecked super duty Diesel 4x4 chassis. Very cool project that has a bed like you are planning on building.
