Hello: I built about 8 of these in the last 2 years, both Perc. AND flint. I'll say, you've had a MUCH easier time than I did! I had one where I spent 2 months going back and forth, sending hundreds of pictures at Traditions request, before we finally got the problem straightened out. My issue was the Trigger assembly. It wasn't machined correctly. They ended up having me send the kit back and THEIR gunsmith found the problem and fixed it! Thanks: Two Feathers

Looking very nice. I think the little imperfections help show the hand of the craftsman and add to the visual appeal. Just like when you look at a famous painting up close, and you can see the brush marks, you know this was painted, or in your case made, by human hands and not a machine.

I am trying to decide whether I want to do one of these kits in percussion or Kibler Longrifle Flintlock. I know Kibler is better machined and much easier but I think percusion would be a better ignition system. On the other hand like everbody I am worried about the trigger guard.

"Part of your cut, from your next cut, will interact with the space that you cut on your last cut. So if I started my cut there, here, and then rotate that around, so that start point is about halfway into my next cut." 🤔 Roger that......

Do you have a file card to clean your file from brass build up in your file. I found out when going to school for machining, that cleaning your file really helps

It is nice to see what you are doing to a very simple rifle kit for asambling and to give it some personality. Now I will surely follow the channel cos I will see the result. How about some basic engraving on the patchbox? Me I am building some flintlock guns too 😁 you can see on my channel if you like....

Personally I wouldn't recommend a Traditions rifle to anyone. A good friend had his Traditions barrel blow up. Fortunately he wasn't hurt. He is an experienced blackpowder shooter and uses safe loads. He contacted the company and after some conversations, they sent him a new one, at which point he took it to a gun shop and with some cash traded it for a Lyman flintlock. Traditions is not known as a quality gun.
