BEAUTIFUL video, Sir. I have watched a lot of "how to" videos on modelling, but this one stands above. Showing us how you are making and attaching the PE parts helps so much. I am getting better at it, but watching you do it is a benefit for me. I definitely need a larger set of flat-faced pliers. High regards and much respect.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that. You can do it! Like anything else, you want to have the right tools to do the job and remember to have fun along the way!

The main thing is not to turn a hobby into a permanent purchase of a tool! I assembled such a tool with one ordinary pair of tweezers. It is very well designed and beautifully executed. After assembling about 30 sets, I can say that this is the best thing that has happened to me. Rfm is just a diamond in the world of modeling.

They are very nice. Have held up quite well too. Essentially it is the same as the blue handled God-Hands brand.

Just came across your channel. Great stuff. I'll be starting an M3 Stuart by Mini Art I purchased from Andy's Hobby Headquarters. It's got PE parts as well and i appreciate you showing how to bend the pieces. Helps me out quite a bit. Your work is outstanding and super realistic. Thank you from a new subscriber.

Thanks! I have the same kit ordered from the same place! I ordered the RFM Puma with it as well so I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. It will be my 2nd Stuart build. It is special for me since I've worked in the plant where every Stuart was built. Good luck with the build!

@@relentlesstorm That's awesome. I kinda grew up with the Stuart. As a kid I was hooked on the comic book G.I.Combat that featured the M3. I've built other M3s before but I definitely remember that Stuart was the early version. I haven't modeled in some years and I may have bitten off more than I can chew. I'm going to take my time and watch your videos. Thanks for the reply. Have a great week.

Nice work, got a laugh about the gypsy comment, because during Desert Storm our Scout M998 Hummers got the nickname Gypsy Wagons from our CO. As to the Sherman Kit from RFM, well thanks to you I know what kit to get, quite impressive.

Hi mate Great work as usual. Undoubtedly the best Sherman kits ever made to date. The only downside is that they don’t include a metal barrel, but grabbed an Aber replacement. I used 3D light and periscope guards, metal cables and 3D .50 cal ammo that looks more realistic than the 2D PE. The tracks are great but man oh man you need some patience 😅😅 Really looking forward to seeing your next segment!! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤😊

Thanks! The kit barrel is molded as one piece which is still an improvement over the typical split barrels with that awful seam. I too used an Aber replacement and I was shocked at how well it went together. It sounds like your kit came together nicely as well. Cheers!

Wow unreal. Amazing work. Hey how do you make straps for the helmets?
@relentlesstorm
@relentlesstorm 8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I used thin masking tape (maybe 1/16") and cut it in half long-ways to make thin strips. Then I used CA to bond the tape to the inside of the helmet. It is the same process as I showed with the bag on the rear light guard.

Hello. I watched your series of videos on Sherman. You've got a great model! I collected one and you got it much better than mine. There are a few comments that you might be interested in. 1 - RFM does not make drainage holes, perhaps because there were two types of them, round and semicircular. 2 - periscope fences are round in cross section and flat etching does not look very realistic. 3 - having done such an amazing job of assembly and detailing, I do not understand why you did not replace the mounting brackets of the machine gun on the turret and the sight with etched ones?
@relentlesstorm
@relentlesstorm 7 ай бұрын
Thank you. I'm sure the missing holes are a limitation of the injection molding process. That is a good point about the periscope fences since they were round. I'll keep that in mind for the future as it would make the assembly process much easier and the PE fences are easy to damage. I don't think I had a PE sight or I had already put on the plastic sight before getting into the PE. Good feedback. Thanks!

@@relentlesstormWith best wishes. There is no gap in the seam on the rfm firefly, and if I remember correctly, there are holes from the factory in the jumbo from meng. The forms are reusable and it seems to me that they do so intentionally. Periscope fences are assembled on a conductor or 3d printed ones are purchased. It's just that in my opinion (as far as you allow) it's even better to put plastic fences, but etched machine gun mounts and a sight. You can make a sight simply from an etching strip by adding an imitation attachment to it. And one more thing I noticed, and what I want to tell you. If this is not an informed choice, you need to add chains to the light bulb cases, towing eyelets, filler caps and mounting a machine gun and lantern plugs on the tower. I watched several documentary videos, it was all on battle tanks.

I wonder why the attachment s are not painted?

The Legend kit is mostly made of resin parts which come unpainted. They painted up the parts for the photos on the box to show what it could look like. Resin kits usually don't come painted. I will be painting these in the next video.

Top build. Subbed to your channel. I have the Italeri 'Fury' Easy Eight kit in my stash. What are your thoughts on that kit?
@relentlesstorm
@relentlesstorm 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! I appreciate the support! I haven't built the Italeri Fury kit (nor any Italeri kit for that matter) so I can't say much from personal experience. Italeri kits seem to be on the simpler side so that can be a positive or negative depending on your personal taste in models. I did do some quick research on the model since you asked and saw a quick video on the quality of the sprues. If I was going to build that kit it would need a lot of work. The rubber tracks would be replaced with plastic or metal tracks. I'd replace the multiple piece barrel with a metal barrel as well. All of the armor components will need some texturing applied because the entire sprue is smooth plastic i.e. no texturing included. It is nice that the Italeri kit includes some added parts like the logs and bags but there is zero texturing. The logs look like cut pieces of styrene rod. They would definitely need some texturing. In short, I'd say that the kit can give you a great result but you'll need to put a lot of extra effort in to bring it to life.

Let me add to the author of the channel. Italeri is a great company, with a long history and an excellent set of models in its portfolio, but if you want to assemble a really high-quality model, it is better to choose rfm, meng or star. Plastic tracks are perfectly fine for Shermans, because the links themselves are small. The same tamiya gives flexible tracks and they look quite good. What you should really pay attention to is the Italian m32 kit. This is a very interesting and rare car. As well as m4a1(76) with miniart figures. A very decent set! It's a pleasure to work on them and refine them. As a person who has already collected 7 Shermans, I can tell you with all responsibility that a chiseled barrel for a World War II tank is an excess. It is good enough to process the native out of the box. One exception is if there is a muzzle brake. This is already a matter of discussion. What I like about Italeri is that with them you remember that you are a modeler, not a set builder.
