Its a video where I actually BUY boots. Oak Street founder, George, helps me pick out a new pair of boots to wear for the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome.

I think there is definitely something to that. Skip Horween describes the patina as a "record of the times and places that you've been" and I love that sentiment. Very personal.

Loved those fields boots in black! I have their navy cxl moc with vibram sole -he’s spot on about the width stretching. Fits great!

Those black field boots are SO nice in person! I actually have a pair of the trail oxfords in navy cxl (beautiful color!) with a crepe sole (George said they won't do crepe sole anymore) -- I really like the camp sole on my brown CXL better, though.

I think OSB is way overlooked, one of my favorite pairs and the limited runs they’ve done recently with Dr. Sole shows that they are willing to step out with some fun makeups. That teacore Field Boot is a real looker! Thank you for this great content.

I have the field boot in black but I find that the top of the upper is way too flimsy. He mentioned the “collar” of the top part of the upper on the tench and how it calls it more moldable. I find it to be way to bendy. Don’t get me wrong, I love my field boot but I think it would benefit with a collar of sorts. Give it a bit more definition but again that’s just a small gripe in an otherwise great walking boot.

I got the same boots, cap toe trench with leather sole. It’s a generous fit at tts but very comfortable. Probably my most comfortable boots next to my Higgins Mill boots.

My Higgins Mill Brown CXL are the most comfortable boots I own as well. I’ve got 3 other nice pair of boots as well but they are not as comfortable.

That's gonna be tough to wait to wear em. I love my Trench boots and my Storm boots. Those Field boot looks amazing and considering a pair. Love how Natural patinas over time. Congrats on the pair Phil!

Seriously though I have been thinking about that black CXL field boot literally every day since I saw it. I might pick it up but I don't really want another danite sole right now. I have the trench boots in a box at work and I leave it out on my desk...I should probably hide it so I don't jump the gun on wearing them

@@AshlandLeather haha yes that would be best to hide them. If you don't get the Field please consider the Storm. That thing is built like a tank plus the stitchdown construction is great and they are very comfortable. Lots of room in the toebox which i like.

The boots look great. Even better in person as I mention in this video. George will probably be mad at me for saying that but most of the main images on their site don't look even close to as nice as the boots look in person. I haven't worn the boot yet but the trail oxford I have from them is my most comfortable piece of footwear period

I own several pair of oak streets. Good American brand. Good boots. Very comfortable and definitely BIFL. Would love to chat with George just to thank him for making me feet look great in the colder months.

I loved this video! I stumbled across Oak Street just recently with a 2nd hand R/Goodyearwelt purchase and am loving my Natural Trench Boot so much that I just bought the Black Field Boot! I actually went up a half size from my RWIR size. I may regret it but I love how they feel right now!

I just got two new boots that are Butterscotch lbc x Oak street collabs that are based on their trench boot with a wedge sole. One is with Horween 93 and the other is black rough out. I love them.

i like this owner, but it seems counter productive to sales to openly say that the boots wear so well you don't need to buy new ones for years.. so UN corporate America thing to say. my fist pair of Oak Street boots arrived yesterday and can't wait to start breaking them in.

That's a real shame. I am wearing them right now and I LOVE them. Very comfortable. I know that trench boots are a staple for Oak Street so hopefully they will bring them back.

I talked to one of their customer reps a few days ago about a restock particularly the Trench boots and they said they will have a restock on all sizes in March of 2023 this year.

I hear u. I live in NYC and was hoping for them to be a brick and mortar store to try them on. I’ve come to the realization that there probably never will be because then these shoes and boots would be tried on all day. It would crease the leather very fast and be unsellable by the first few tries. I know that’s probably not the answer you’re looking for but it all I can come up with. I remember trying on some oak street oxfords and they creased from loose grain after about 3 or 4 wears. No one is going to by a pair of CXL shoes or boots with leather that displays loose grain and the creasing result except for maybe a sample sale. Hope this helps.
