As others have said below, how can WE avoid the scam if we have no idea what it looks like coming at us? Very nice that the back is supporting and covering the money. Can you say anything about WHO is vulnerable, or is it anyone at any time?

Fair point! I should’ve mentioned the main thing I’ve learned: no matter what recent genuine conversations you’ve had with your bank and no matter how much the person calling you seems to know about those conversations, always verify it is genuine by hanging up and calling the bank back instead 👍🏼 I was vulnerable because I’d had issues with my card previously. It is not clear whether those issues were related to the scam to make it seem more genuine or a separate incident

What you said TOTALLY checks and will help people: always call the institution yourself, be it bank or brokerage, to make sure it is really is them initiating the contact. Great tip. I'm really pleased you didn't change the intro. It's important that people see that life isn't all glamour and excitement, that there's hard work and worry behind success. Too many people in media give a false impression by hiding the behind the scenes stuff. Not deliberately perhaps, but it still gives a false impression and impressionable people believe that their lives don't compare. What I love the most about your vlogs is that you are more personal. There is more to you than the jumping, and everyone knows that, but you share bits of your thinking, your feelings, and your personality. The early morning start, the things that trouble your mind, the amount of mental work and pressures whilst doing that work are all wonderful insights into how a down-to-earth person copes with becoming something more, to so many people. As a small buisness owner, the one thing is for sure, employees are the biggest X factor for any employer. Take your time, be patient, be on gaurd for people with bad intentions and jealousy ! Took me years to put a good group of people together and still deal with two out of ten that are difficult! One example is one of my best employees of 5 years tells me his wife AND girlfriend are both pregnant! That old adage of don’t make your problems my problems don’t really work too well lol!

Lauren did discuss this with me above, and with ANY institution: call that institution back on the phone number you have for them. Never verify yourself on an inbound call.

I wouldn't feel bad Lauren, you did okay. On a complicated scam level it ranks a 7 - 8 out of 10, 10 being the most severe. At My Bank a 3rd party fraud office called when something happened...On the message they wanted me to give them all this info... I looked up the number and the name of the company ...I was like wait a minute that doesn't sound like my bank, nothing matches. I called the bank and they even had to call and check on it.... They confirmed the business that called Me was indeed their fraud dept.. Many times legitiment calls can look like a scam, and a scams can look genuine... You didn't do anything wrong Lauren I assure You... I Love You 💜💜💜

My rule is never to give any information or even trust a caller unless I placed the call. Sometimes banks will call me and they’ll say oh it’s the fraud department and we just need to confirm a few details. I know full well that I did a transaction that they’ve flagged up, but I’ll refuse to confirm anything when they call me. I tell them that I’ll call back to ensure I know who I’m speaking with. Sometimes they don’t like it, but it’s better to be safe. They will sometimes say but you can see the caller ID to verify it’s the bank. And I say, do you know how easy that is to fake?

I cannot imagine having significant criticism for what you do as IMO you have been as professional and so dedicated, constantly emanating positive energy at every turn, and working so hard to provide good content for multiple generations. My wife and I are so afraid of scams that anything at all that looks suspicious is either reported or discarded ASAP. Hey Lauren. Sorry to hear about the scam. That’s just awful. Stay awesome and motivating. A certain amount of anxiety is expected with all the increased responsibility of changing your business and increasing your outgoings. Try and counter this with some relaxation / meditation calming activities and talking to trusted people. Re taking care of your voice: - Stay hydrated - Drink plenty of water, especially when exercising. - If you drink caffeinated beverages or alcohol, balance your intake with plenty of water. - if it’s raspy, drink warm water or hotter water (or herbal tea) - Take vocal naps-rest your voice throughout the day. - Use a humidifier in your home. This is especially important in winter or in dry climates. Thirty percent humidity is recommended. - Avoid or limit use of medications that may dry out the vocal folds, including some common cold and allergy medications. If you have voice problems, ask your pharmacist which medications would be safest for you to use. - when speaking be conscious of volume and vocal strain. Keep it low and relaxed - don’t talk for a long time in loud environments (think about ambient / background noise) - try Vocalzone lozenges… a lot of people who sing or act use them. - stay hydrated. *** trust yourself*** and don’t let some A**Hat scammers steal your confidence. You are inspiration for a lot of people with good reason.

Sorry you got scammed, but happy that your bank had your back on this. For those of you wanting to know what actually happened, I'll just say this. Unless your credit card company or bank call or text you to verify whether or not an unusual charge on your credit card was actually you, they will not initiate contact with you. In general, do not give out any personal of financial information unless you're the one that has called them.

Lauren, there are a lot of scams everywhere. You can protect your assets by accessing commercial insurance for both cyber liability and crime policies. You are likely at the point where a good conversation with a commercial insurance Broker in your home area would be of use. Suggest that you take a couple of hours and make that happen to protect you and your husband and of course your brand. Given that you are in the UK Lloyds brokers would of course pop to mind.

Laura, one thing we all should pay attention to is to trust in the natural order of things...if we are thinking all the time we move away from the heart cave...we need to open the heart to merge with the creator...as the east says; unless wd go within, we go without! This is the way to have guidance and wisedom from the creator...by going within we become more of who we are.
