God Blessed y'all with Miss Eleanor's advice! My Great Grandfather started orchards in PA around 1850 and that side of the family still has them. He stipulated in his will that all "his generations" should learn growing based on his grow diaries. So my Daddy gave me his copy.....It is fascinating! Everything on growing fruit trees relies on lunar cycle timing. Even the market price changed according to lunar cycles. For example, 1 price for apples picked day before full moon, highest price picked during the full moon at night, and another price picked day after. Ground apples went straight to the cannery and cider house......Gotta find its equivalent instructions for Mississippi. Might actually have to go to a library. :)

I know in one of the Outlander series books, the character Claire is telling her son in law about picking and planting things according to the moon and things like the time of day, like "when the dew is still on the plant," etc. The author, Diana Gabaldon, is a scientist. She points out that what sounds to us as silliness is actually based on science. It's just that people long ago didn't know the science behind why it worked to pick something early in the day or to plant something on a certain day, but it actually is based on science. If I remember that scene correctly, she pointed out that she was picking the plant early because that was when the active ingredient in the herb or whatever was at its most potent. The old wives saying was to pick it when the dew is on it or something like that, but the author understood the science behind it, so she understood why it worked.

I'm very lucky here where I live in Southeastern Kentucky, when it comes to pollinators. We have quite a few bumble bees, and plenty of hunny bees. We are surrounded by multiple families close by in our town who raise hunny bees. I've been reading and watching everything I can get my hands on, with plans of eventually getting my own hive and bees. We don't spray our lawn, and no one close by does either, so theirs plenty of flowers around, wild and domestic, including all of our vegetable plant flowers. The bees absolutely love squash and cucumber flowers, and they also love the sweet corn tassels. I think everyone who has the the interest, time, and property, should become bee owners. You are helping the bee population, your helping your garden, and you get free, delicious honey out of the deal.... that's a win win win! My parents gardened during my childhood, and they inspired me to do the same now that I'm older and an adult. Me and my wife are on our 5th year of growing a garden together, and we watch your guys video's, and several other channels as well, and we've learned so much, even though nothing will ever replace just getting out there, getting your hands dirty, and learning the old fashioned way. Our garden just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and our list of things we grow more extensive by the year. Our first plot was a small patch of yard, about 12 ft by 10 ft, but this year we have three plots, one that's 40 ft by 30 ft, and two that are 30 ft by 20 ft. We're growing Ambrosia sweet corn, two different kinds of potatoes, Bullreguard sweet potatoes, green beens, several different kinds of squash, a couple different kinds of cucumbers, 3 different kinds of tomatoes, including Cherokee Purple, my favorite, lettuce, cabbage, several different kinds of peppers, carrots, pees , asparagus, and several pumpkin plants for jack-o'-lantern's come Halloween. We're getting better and better each year, and we've figured out the true secret to healthy, happy plants, across the board..... healthy, rich, fluffy soil, that's full of dead plant material. Once we figured that part out, everything else becomes easy.

I went through something about 6 years ago, and it felt like God was punishing me, and left me when I needed Him most, but I've came to realize over rhis past year or so by talking with him that He brought me through it, and that is the only way I made it honestly. Many Blessings to you and Danny.

Your Fall Solstice is Sun, 22 Sept 2024, 8:43 am Eastern Time. It is believed that these periods like a full moon draw moisture to the surface which in turn bring nutrients with It. Many farmers plant by the moon cycles especially potatoes etc. There isn't much information on Google now about planting by moon cycles as " they' don't want us growing anything. Best wishes from Australia 🦘 🦘

I could not find the video I was watching about roses and bugs. My aunt who would be about 105 now, RIP Aunt Sue, would pour urine on her roses to keep bugs off of them. They lived in Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa. She also used the gray water from the house to water them. As they were always under water rationing.

I've got a bunch of cherry tomato plants that came up in my chicken run that I'm keeping the chickens out of this summer. They're out in the yard instead. With the chickens not in there, those seeds from tomatoes I'd tossed to them took root and sprang up practically overnight. The tomatoes are sweeter than the typical tomatoes, not so tangy like tomatoes often are.

Psalms 46~ 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Prayers for California residents and businesses. Without a vote of the people "they", the state water controllers, have made new severely restrictive water regulation, to slow use to 21% by 2025, and then 39% by 2040. Our agriculture is already scaled back to 15% water use.

I went for gas yesterday, 3.49. And two guys with their trucks were loading up 4 or 5 gas cans. Made me go hmmmm. Because we haven't mowed much lately as the grass is dried up, so I figured they must have heard something I had not yet. As for the 'new religion' God has this to say : Gal 1:6 - I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, Gal 1:7 - which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. Gal 1:8 - But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

As for the long-term (AUG) weather forecasts, it depends on who's "forecast" you're using as to what all they might include when "forecasting" anything beyond say, 10-14 days. Some companies simply post 10-year temperature averages for each day, some use AI, some use all kinds of voodoo nonsense. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what your source is when trying to determine weather beyond the 14-day mark bc at that point it's a coin-flip, at best. NO ACCURATE WEATHER FORECASTING TOOL EXISTS BEYOND THIS POINT. PERIOD. Any/all weather entities will tell you the same. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're wasting your time looking into such things as anything more than amusement.
