That must have been a very interesting trip, and how exciting (though arduous) to explore the castle and scale the stairway! I would guess that the effort was worth the beautiful view that you saw from the top. Thanks for sharing your trip video. I doubt I will ever get to the UK (though I would love to), so I especially enjoy watching videos from there.

@janetryan9779 Hi again, Jane! Yes, the view was definitely worth it! We enjoyed exploring and learning the history too (which we both enjoy). All of these Scotland videos come from a two week, self-planned road trip we took back in May of this year. This one was part #15 (so if you haven't seen them all, feel free to go back and see the many beautiful places we've already shared), and we have quite a few left to upload, as we're only on day 7 of 14 days. We're happy to share our trip with you and glad you're enjoying the videos - but we'll also be in prayer that maybe someday you get to go in person as well! 😊

@@OldHouseOnTheCorner Thanks, that would be lovely to go one day! My dad was there in his youth when he was in the army, and I have always thought that it would be great to go there and retrace his steps (and even add to them). I will check out the previous videos of yours when possible, to get a full picture. I also love history! As you were driving, I wondered if you had any difficulty getting around by car in the UK, as their mode of driving (left side of the road) is opposite to ours. I have watched many British shows and have always thought that I would worry about getting into a collision if I were motoring there, as the opposite way of driving/turning would confuse me. : /

@janetryan9779 no difficulty driving for us (or I should say for me - Dale - as Claudine did not drive), but some people do have trouble for the reasons you mentioned. The thought of driving gave Claudine great anxiety and she still was tense most days even as a rider, but she enjoyed our trip none-the-less. I got used to it very quickly and actually enjoyed it (even on the single lane roads that had two-way traffic - one single lane with vehicles going both directions). I did prepare before we went over, however, by familiarizing myself with the rules of the road, signage, watched driving videos, and checked out Google Street View to be aware of various intersections. The multi-lane roundabouts going clockwise from the left lane take some getting used to.

@@OldHouseOnTheCorner That was wise to watch videos ahead of time. That’s good that you managed to navigate the “backwards” (to us- they would say we are backwards!) driving system so that you could have the independence of driving yourselves around. You also saved money!

@janetryan9779 yes, we saved money and had more freedom. We weren't held to anybody's schedule and could go places to bus tours don't go. Much more enjoyable.
