@@prayermanone Look for the Time Team Official KZbin Channel. They have started crowd-funded archeology in the last few years. Also, the Time Team Classics KZbin channel for repeats of many of the original series.

Oh, Tony’s back and Phil and where’s Mick? The guy with the striped sweater. I just watched another Time Team episode and they had nobody on there that was familiar. No special characters that I’ve grown to love. Not a soul and they must’ve had at least 50 people and it was called the “Time Team” and it was a British program. Only since the recent pandemic did I find this show and fell in love with it (I am a Canadian, as a child I really wanted to be an archeologist.) Had I gone that route my bones still wouldn’t have held up, lol. So I decided to become a nurse another difficult profession on the body. Had to quit that due to bone on bone - full of osteoarthritis. Lived in Atlantic Canada all my life damp weather isn’t good for us. So happy that I can still be somewhat of an archeologist and learn from watching KZbin. So excited the regulars are back. ☺️

The reason why the new episodes have unfamiliar people is just that they’re new. Some (like Matt) are familiar, they’re just a lot older now. Sadly, Mick passed away a number of years ago, and I do think he wasn’t in the later episodes they made. Everyone loves him! Time Team is now being produced (new episodes) on KZbin, and is 100% fan-funded. I would encourage anyone to watch it. Many of the faces are new, but the production team aren’t, and there are plenty of the original archaeologists as well. The new tech is cool, and there’s bonus content on Patreon.

@31:53 or so: Tony frequently uses a word I don't know that seems to rhyme with "turtle", but starts with an F..., Furtle? Fertull? I can't find it in the dictionary. Well, "fertile" is there, but I don't think that's what he's saying. In American English, "fiddle" as in "fiddle around" would make sense. What IS this word? Anyone know?
@Rachel-l7xАй бұрын
He is saying 'furtling', which is an actual word, but not a common one. From Wiki dictionary: To gently delve; to probe or rummage tentatively. There is (of course) an Urban Dictionary meaning too, but I'm pretty sure he didn't mean that....

New to this channel and LOVE the history your uncovering, but I gotta ask in case I missed it ... why do you have a hard limit of "3 days" on everything you do? I can't even begin to imagine the things you're missing with drive-by archaeology. It makes me anxious and sad. lol.
@juliemaggio12462 ай бұрын
I'm assuming its part of the show they can only get so much footage before its too long
@TheBeetress2 ай бұрын
All the people working on this show have other jobs and do this on their weekend therefore 3 days only. But they often dig places that are not being looked into due to lack of funding or working alongside the local archeologists to help give them a boost with experience and technology they otherwise would not have access to.
@angelabrady93422 ай бұрын
They’ve also shown that ‘keyhole’ archeology, combined with landscape, geophys and historical research can provide really good information about a site. Most archeology in the UK is driven by the need to record sites before destruction for development. This technique can be used on sites that were otherwise low priority. Also they were always conscious that new techniques in analysis will be developed: by doing only targeted trenches they are leaving untouched areas for future archeologists to apply novel analysis.
