I worked on the Gameboy Advance version (in Namco Museum). It had a couple of hacks because the arcade source I ported from was for the Japanese version and we wanted to use the US graphics. I have some lookup logic in the sprite drawing routines that switch pages and objects so that the graphics work properly (also, I had to return early without drawing when the game logic requests to draw the additional banner that's in the Japanese version). The other hack was with the horizon graphics. In the arcade version they are drawn one character at a time and this is too slow for the GBA, so I put them all in a single sprite (wide) and I shift it's position based on the game logic. It's not easy to tell, but you would see it if you dumped the cart. I solved the scrolling maps in PacMania on the GBA in a similar way.
