I have an ALAN1 yoke installed on my ARCADE1up SW unit guys, and its the definitive 1:1 experience. And NO the panel is not going to break, mine is rock solid. It comes with instructions that tells you how to install it, which I followed, i don't even remember it being a complicated mod at all. Trust me ALAN 1 yoke is the BEST and closest experience you can get to the original game. Its expensive but it was worth for me and for anyone who's really loving this cab. Get it !

Sincerely appreciate the vlogs and the A1U community. For the last 23 years I’ve restored and collect electromechanical arcades (EM) from the 50s through the 70’s. 40 days ago I jumped into the A1U rabbit hole. Why I decided to do so? I grew up in between the best of EM and golden age of video arcade. When CES hit and no Star Wars re-release I decided to build a cockpit. Bought the original Yoke, PCB, and a few other items off eBay. Also went crazy on the GRS site and bought everything he offered to upgrade my A1Us including a GRS yoke. Then the re-release hit and when I saw the artwork I hit the buy it button on the A1U site during the live show. Very excited to receive this A1U. As I was not collecting back when the OG was released. My delivery date was originally 1/28 but now is showing 1/31. I will be building from from scratch a Star Wars multi-cade projection screen game with a PC. Your tutorials on Battle Pod have given me the confidence I can do it in my own with some trial and sure some error. Thanks to you and this community for all you do for DIY guys like me.

are the display panels the same between the old and new versions? if not which one is a better panel?

The LCD panel itself is the same between. BOE 4:3 monitors 1280x960 resolution

Can the springs be changed on Glens yolk?

i've never tried to change the springs so not sure if they can be tightened. I think he was potentially making another version that fixes the springs.

Cab def looks way better. . Artwork looks great in front . Lit coin door is money. you pay a few bucks extra not to have to do it yourself . Many people don't want to do the work .My original has 300 games though ;) Hard to resist. I want every cabinet they make lol . Im thinking about turning the original into a knight rider cab . Was thinking about that for a while . I have the kit scanner and a bunch of custom made kit lights and would be cool with the yoke . Just slap a knight industries sticker on it . Just need to find the energy and the time . The Knight rider2 game uses around 14-16 buttons as well so I have just enough :) Im looking for excuses to buy the new one lol

The original looks better actually has extra art because there’s tie fighters down there and the screen on the new one looks washed out definitely a pass
