Let's Create a Tote Bag in Any Size - Step-by-Step Sewing Tutorial

Hey Everyone,
Today I have a new video on how you can create a tote bag in any size you desire using my free downloadable worksheet "Any Size Tote Bag" which you can find on my website using the link below.
In this step-by-step tutorial, I explain how to use the worksheet as well as how to construct the tote bag using waxed canvas. The tote bag you will see me construct is a very simple one with no lining. The interior has finished seams so there are no raw edges inside the bag. If you would like to use the same waxed canvas I use in the video, I do have an affiliate link below.
While the tote I make in the video is essentially a utilatarian bag, the pattern you create using the worksheet will serve as a palette for creating your own bag with limitless options to add pockets, zippers, linings and whatever else your imagination thinks of to create your own unique tote bag. Fabric choices are limitless as well. You can choose cotton quilting fabric, cork fabric, leather, vinyl or any combination of fabric you wish to use.

I have literally watched hundreds of You Tube videos on how to sew a tote/shopping bag; and, I haven’t seen any that are as concise and detailed as yours! You have helped me immeasurably. I found this measurement sheet to calculate and make covers for some boxes that I turned upside down to cover my sewing machines when I am not using them vs. using the fabric covers that came with the machines ( they look so much neater). But, after a few failed attempts at making the covers I scoured the internet to find the perfect measurements and came across your video. After seeing how you calculate it I can honestly say I am a little disappointed in myself because you have simplified something that I just could not wrap my head around. So, you have saved my day !! I have made two of them and they both turned out perfect !!

Rosie, I've been sewing totes for YEARS and never really got the desired measurements right. Your tute is a real eyeopener for me!!! I'm gobsmacked! No one ever mentions accomodation the seam allowances to the overall cut. Its so easy to confuse me as I get on in my years but this is a video that have have marked in several places AND I have downloaded the pdf worksheet!
