Let's decorate my NYC bedroom! (finally)

At long last the bedroom is getting a little lovin'. Come along as I muster up the energy... six months in the making... to install my pendant and hang some frames. Another cozy corner in the books and my apartment feeling even more like home 🥰

Looks great! Have you considered hanging the curtain higher, putting the bed against the window, and using a floating shelf as a nightstand? People make fancy fabric covers for your pendant light. Love the artwork.

I think I'll eventually raise the curtain! However I chose the position of the bed to maximize the space in the rest of the room 🙂

It looks so cozy! I actually love the dresser on the side you have it -- especially with the new pictures and the hanging light. I have a suggestion though -- have you tried facing your desk towards your bed? Then you would look at the window/bed, and the space behind you would be a seperate closet area. Might be cool, might be squishy!

You really should use a ceiling hook with a toggle bolt, especially with a heavy glass globe. They’re not hard to install and they’re much, much safer. The hooks you’re using are just drilling into drywall or plaster without toggles.

Hi Gail....very much enjoyed watching you decorate your bedroom although I can't help but wonder why you hung the wonderful painting your brother gave you over the head of the bed when hanging it at the foot of the bed would mean your eyes would fall on it every morning?

Now you have an inviting sleeping nook! I didn’t think the light would work but I see that it does. However I personally could not put a desk in my bedroom. I would feel pressured by its presence to be productive! Like better sit down and do some work now! Or write a letter, (revealing my age with that comment!), or balance my checkbook! I associate desks with working and not sleeping! I’m using too many exclamation points so I will end this silly comment and look forward to next weeks video! 👈🏼One more just because..

Looking great, you should make another gallery wall on the wall opposite your bed so you have something to look at when you are laying there! Just my thoughts. Did you end up putting that other rug you got for your LR but didn’t use in your bedroom or did you store or sell it?
