Arc Angel is an angel with 24.75" scale length. Tom Andersons, except the cobra and bobcat, are usually 25.5" unless they have "shorty" in the name. The frets are always stainless steel after ~2003. Pro Ams are their S shape with no pickguard or maple top. I have a NoHo 24. The pickups sound pretty good. They are pretty ballsy without being muffled or shrill, though I still prefer actives for my high output pickups. Not too many new noncustom options for shorter scale super strats out there.

12:04 .... uhhh, yes... that is indeed roasted. You must have missed the roasted kiesel drama where the customer got a dark colored roasted fretboard and light colored roasted neck that didn't match in any way and Jeff went off on him. He later apologised and now you can specify light, med, or dark and they will do their best. According to Kiesel the woods are roasted the same amount but come out different depending on the amount of sugar in the wood. It's odd to me, because you only see one hue of roasted maple across all the other manufacturers. Ernie ball next to a warmouth, next to an Ibanez, etc. all are the same general shade of burnt sienna. Here comes kiesel with 50 shades of roasted.

Ha, I do remember that. Maybe the other brands just leave it in longer. Or uh, buy more uniform wood. No idea. Either way, I guess I'm more of an espresso guy :P

I accumulated just under 100 guitars alone and started selling off the heavier ones I rarely play. After only the first 3 I decided screw that and just sell locally. Way to much stress and unknowns. In this 100 degree weather INSIST on 2-3 day air Sig delivery. Less time in a baking truck and few people "throw" it around. NEVER EVER say MINT. Buyers CAN and will search for anything they can find. I call it feedback blackmail and Paypal prison. No money until the customer says the guitar acceptable which can be months. Rather than eat a $150 return for a "mark" on a weathered/ aged CS Strat "no shit" I PP him the $150.

Excited for the Novo review - I custom ordered one a couple of months ago. I mailed them and talked back and forth about specs and finishes. I used their Instagram a lot for reference in colors. The wait time is about 6 to 9 months as far as I’m told. Haven’t checked if their new site has a builder - it would be nice to have a builder similar to what Mayones and Baum Guitars have, but they were very helpful so I had a good experience ordering through email. After everything I hear about them (and from them) I definitely have a lot of faith in them as a company.

6:45 The lamination approach is 100% for stability. An 11 piece neck is incredibly stable.... now I'd argue that a roasted maple neck with dual carbon fiber reinforcement is more stable, but I'd be splitting hairs.

Yeah that makes sense. Just seems like it might come off as "dead" feeling since it's so much glue. Maybe that isn't the case though. Either way, I'll take the trade off...I hate moving necks.

I've only had the chance to play it a couple times but its a realllllly great neck. I'm not very used to telecaster pickups, so I need to probably adjust what I'm doing with them. Lots to learn!

The dummy pickup on the James Tyler is the same as the sscii system on a Suhr. It keeps the single coils from humming without affecting the tone.

Crazy. I didn't know it was a literal extra pickup. Just looked it up and found 1 tiny pic of the Suhr SSCII. Looks like they route a spot for it. Fair enough, good to know!

@@TheGuitarPit Yeah the one in my suhr is basically just a humbucker but with no magnets in it. I think Tom Anderson does it the same way also.

Eh, while true, I'm SO far away from making a non-trivial amount of cash on KZbin. The real bottleneck is time. I have 5 unreviewed guitars sitting here. Would love to get the videos done, but it's tough to find an ENTIRE free day to shoot and edit them. Work comes first, ya know? But yeah you're 100% right, posting almost daily seems to be the ticket for consistent growth.
