Hey Sherri great review and tip: after you apply the polish before you cure under the light, use a clean up brush dipped in acetone around the cuticle and sides to remove any polish that’s touching your cuticle/sidewalls. Then cure. It makes a world of difference, if it touches skin as the skin grows and sheds it causes the polish to lift that makes it peel. Hence why you don’t want it touching.hope that’s helpful 🤗💅🏽👏🏽

Well done Sherri. I am a certified nail tech here in Australia. For your first time you did amazing. You are correct in saying that the nail prep is the most important stage in applying gel polish. You should be able to pull/snip that top coat off your skin. Sherri you did an amazing job!!! I’m a nail tech and beetles is my fav. I have well over 100 colors🤪. Decisions decisions!!! Nail prep is THE MOST important!!! If you can’t use alcohol to cleanse.. use 100% acetone. Some removers have additional oils and that’s 😢.. it will peel!! Been there done that and got the t shirt😂😂😂 Also…. When capping the free edge…. Do that first w top coat then work excess product on the nail plate. That way you won’t have the “bump” .. practice makes perfect and you’ll be a pro in no time!! 😉 Your such a joy to watch and I hope you enjoy Beetles products as much as I do!! It took me alot of trial and error with gel nails. The best advice for longevity is making sure you wash you nails really good and then give them a little buff to make them a little abrasive to help the gel really stick. At first I thought gel just didn’t work for me or the kind I got wasn’t good but it really just takes trying it a few times to figure out what works best.

When I do my nails (press on acrylic dip or gel) I lightly buff all shine on natural nail then alcohol clean the nail..but did very well for the first time..🦄🦄

When you use regular polish, try the Seche Vite dry fast top coat. Dries you polish in seconds. Game changer, but only regular polish. You'll love it.

For my cuticles I use a called "Hoofer's Choice". I put a dab on each nail and rub it into both the nails and cuticles. I find that it works really well. I have been putting it on twice a day when my nail are bare, and rub in it to my cuticles once a day when it have polish or wraps on. It take a very little bit. Also it was under $5.00 at Sally Beauty. Fantastic product. I noticed a difference with in two days.

You did a great job. The only suggestion I have is that if at all possible try to use alcohol wipes to clean all residue off before polish. Using remover can break down your polish. I sure you did great and all should be fine since you dried your nails well. I was licensed in nails and really enjoyed gel. I would really like to try this kit.

Hey there Sherri. If you want to use your regular nail polish you won't have to wait an hour for them to dry with this product. Orly quick dry top coat will dry your nails in 1 minute. Also it makes your nails 💅 very shiny. I've been using that product for many years and I love ❤️ it. I get mine from Sally Beauty. You can order it online too. 😊 Don't you love on-line shopping and it coming right to your house. Lol 🙂. I sure do! 😉 Hope this helps.

Yes so many quick dry top coats now, I like Seche Vite, it’s super fast drying under 3 minutes usually for me. Love gel cures fast but the removal process is tiresome to me, so I do prefer regular polish because of that plus I like changing polishes regularly.

Also…. If you haven’t tried yet. Poly gel can fix stubborn .. funky growing nails…. And make them look gorgeous!! There is definitely a learning curve with poly gel but once you learn how the product behaves……game changer!!!😊😊😊

Don’t forget to buff the natural shine from your nail…..also if you go outside the nail with your polish it will also cause lifting, so its always a good idea to have a wooden pick at your side to wipe away before you go in the lamp

When I paint my toes or fingers nails I put that top coat / base coat on my fingers nails and my toes before polishing them so the colors like red black or whatever else you so it don't stain your nails and toe nails 💅

File off the top layer (top coat) then wrap them with pure acetone soaked cotton in foil. It takes awhile to soak off but rushing the removal can peel layers off from the natural nail so repeat soaking if all doesn’t initially come off.

Fingernail polish remover probably isn’t the best….it isn’t a good base for the polish to stick to since that’s what you use to take the gel off

I’m saying in love, but you’re a tad too close to the cuticle. You should actually see the slightest amount of nail near the cuticle (itty bitty teeny tiny amount). You should get a good 14 days out of a good gel polish. You should also buff the natural shine from your natural nail before polishing. This helps the polish stick to the nail. Absolutely do not file your nail bed like they do in the salons. This ruins your natural nail. I cam tell you it’s gonna be hard to get off. If you take an empty board using the roughest side and knock off the top coat only you can then soak in pure acetone and remove. Do Not file your unpolished nail bed. A buff is all you ever do there. One more thing try to apply thinner coats. It takes practice but once you get it down pat, you will save tons $$$$. Best of luck! I know you’re going to do a great job!
