Ok some tips: - Jill has a lockpick instead of the lighter. So chris now, in order to be able to open some doors or furniture you need these small keys. - to save space always look to open all the doors you can with the mansion keys. You can always check the map cause it will show you which door you can open with the key (sky blue colored doors) After all the door are open you will be able to toss the key so you save a valuable slot. - square button is to run just with the tank controls. - use heights to use the knife. For example the Zombie in the room where you get the map, you can scale the small furniture and kill the zombie with your knife attacking downward without getting damaged. - the best way to avoid the camera angles changing your movement direction to escape is to use the tank controls as the games was intended to be played that way. - if you can just run, do it. Avoid wasting ammo, the best thing of alternate controls is that you can trigger easily the zombie grab animation and escape from that and use these seconds to go around the zombie and go to your goal :) - also and super important, dont waste the break free animation. When the zombies are in the floor after they bit you , you can attack them with the knife or gun downward. You just point the weapon down and attack them. Don’t wait for them to stand up. You waste valuable time and possible damage to them doing that

Chris runs faster than Jill. Jill had the lockpick, that didn’t need an inventory space. Chris has a lighter by default, but no lockpick, you have to find the old keys. Well, the other differences are spoilers so I won’t tell more. Looking forward for this playthrough after 2 years. Thank you!:)

I watched your Jill playthrough and I'm so glad you're back with Chris. Jill had the lockpick , Chris has the lighter and one tip, when you get a mansion key PLEASE turn it over when you examine it as it will give you the name of the key i.e. armour, shield etc. Other than that, enjoy.

In alternate controls, with the joystick pressed all the way I think you are always running, so the run button doesn't do anything. In tank controls using the dpad you normally walk slowly and hold the run button to run (the original games didn't have joystick controllers).

Old Key do the same of Lockpick but you need to find the Old keys, and i think you need to chose where you gona use. Chris take little less damage that Jill, but is just that, Chris gameplay it's harder than Jill verify the body of STARS again for some ammo zombies tend not to try to grab on stairs, they will vomit Chris Claping Cake keep alerting the Zombies lol

Definitely wasn't expecting to see this game pop up again but I'm here for it. Good to see you having a great time with it. Plus the second time in games is great, you have a decent understanding of it so you're willing to be a little more daring in your actions but still an uncertainty about it. I like that feeling personally. If I remember right Chris gets the lighter as a non-space taking item but needs keys while Jill had the lockpick as her non-space taking item but then had to carry a lighter. Anywho great job can't wait for more.

I love how excited and nostalgic you are towards this game. You can't get soft locked by grabbing to many items to early as you can go in any order available so can get to a box early as well as use up resources. Chris can't use the lockpick so needs to find the old Keys, don't worry and use them as you would a lockpick. Wiggle sticks and mash buttons to get out of grabs. Chris has a higher crit rate than Jill. As for Easy and Normal some differences are that in normal you have more enemies, less resources and a higher crimson Head revival average.

A little hint...you can knife the zombies when they're on the ground. So if you knock them down, Chris can stab the zombies multiple times until they die.

Yeah, also just to help her a little bit more, aim down when attacking zombies on the floor. She was just attacking normally when they were on the ground and so the strikes weren't counting. Plus not sure if aiming up when striking when the zombies are standing stops them from biting and keeping your finger on the attack button make the attacks quicker so you don't get bit so easy. But it has been a while since I played it.

Hi Nuka!!! I Can't tell you how much I loved seeing this playthrough pop up in my notifications. I did watch the first playthrough and I loved it!! You are so much fun to watch!! It was so cute seeing how excited you are about playing this game again. When you said this game has a special place in your heart, I feel the same way. This is the first game I ever played back in 2002. I played the Gamecube version. So yes this game will always have a special place in my heart too. So I just wanted to tell you about the old key. It's kind of the same as the lock pick that Jill had. And where Chris has the lighter Jill had the lock pick. Also a couple of tips. For the dogs try not to fire until they jump, you can kill them with one shot. And with the zombies, if you can get them to go down using the knife, then use the gun as they are getting back up, it should make the head shots easier.

There's one for every locked door so don't worry about which doors to open too much. Tip: don't forget you can aim down with the knife or gun while zombos are on the floor to hit them:] shooting them to the floor and then slashing them is a good strat for saving ammo

Just a little tip you don't actually have to burn all the zombies if you kill a zombie and it bleeds leave the room and go back in most zombies should disappear the ones that don't burn them

Actually, Most zombies will turn crimson. There's only a certain set and type of zombie that won't turn.

The Old Key items are specific to Chris. As Jill was given the lockpick by Barry in her playthrough, she didn't need them. The trade-off is that Chris only needs to have the canteen in his inventory to burn zombies, as he always carries the lighter. Another big difference between both playthroughs is that when Jill finds Forrest on the terrace, she picks up his grenade launcher. Forrest doesn't carry anything on Chris' playthrough. Also, both characters have different ways of giving you Richard's assault shotgun later on.

With Chris (and this is from memory and it has been a while since I played it) there are more doors locked as he doesn't have the lock pick that Jill has. But do try doors even if they are red as I think they are red until you try them. Herbs: you have 3 types, Green, Red and Purple and you can mix 2 Green, 1 Green and 1 Red and 1 Green and 1 Purple. You can take Green by itself and you can take Purple by itself but Purple is only for poison. You can't mix 2 Red or 2 Purple. 1 Green gives you partial health back and 2 Green or 1 Red gives you full health I think and Purple alone doesn't recover health but will act as an antidote to poison in most parts of the game. Also when using the knife, if a zombie is on the floor you can still attack him by aiming down and attack. Knife attacks are risky in this game but it is possible, in fact I am not sure if there isn't an achievement for just using knife but I suggest playing the game on the easiest level for that achievement. The door with the dodgy doorknob I think you can use 3 times before it breaks but like in Jill's run it does get repaired I later in the game if memory serves me right.

zero to village? that isnt the correct order to play though. Start with RE 1-3 on the PS1 first. Then Code Veronica. Then REmake 1, then 0, then 4 and onwards.

On your next run if you are planning to knife with Chris. Try to use the staircase for knifing. That way zombies will not grab you, they will only grab you if you are on flat ground. Chris knifing is stronger due to his crit rate.

The Old Keys are needed for the doors Jill could open with the lock pick. There are 5 of them that can be used once, but on any of the Old Key Doors. Btw this feature is only relevant in the first part of the mansion, making it way more complicated than for Jill. :)

Remember Nuka, you are on normal difficulty so you will have less ink ribbons and zombies take more bullets to kill

Normal Mode: Characters take normal damage. Items are default and will feel harder than easy mode. There are also less zombies or enemies in easy mode, enemies hit weaker in easy. Easy mode also have extra items which can be found.

Hey, thanks for playing this with Chris Nukella! You've got skills girl 😎 nice dodging those Zombo's 🧟 I really enjoyed your play through with Jill and always hoped you try with Chris on normal difficulty 💯 A couple spoiler free tips.. - Zombies can't grab you on the stairs, they just vomit acid and it doesn't do much damage. So you can use the knife on the stairway zombies and try to get them to stack, so you can do the double burn 🔥 (Don't forget you can aim up or down, so make use of the valuable time when they are laying down on the ground, they still take damage) - Chris's knife does more damage than Jill's. It's also longer and his arm is longer as well, so you get a good long reach with him. But if you aim downwards with the knife attack (at the knees), then you get the longest reach with Chris's attack animation.. You should be able to get 2 or 3 hits in this way before needing to retreat. The first zombie in the long hallway at the area with Kenneth outside the dining room is good practice for this. The zombie with the "Man titties" can't go down the stairs to the crypt, so he is also easy practice. Just remember to burn him as he's not very visible once he goes down. - If you trigger the zombie in the art gallery area but leave the slidding bench where it is, the zombie gets stuck there (zombo's can't climb). Use the knife to kill it at your leisure, but don't burn it.. Instead when the zombie resurrects it will still be safely stuck behind the bench, so it acts as sort of a canary in a coal mine warning you of when you reach the point that any zombies you haven't burnt yet will now be Crimson Heads. One last thing, this is an old game so it has some weird issues with it. If you put bullets into a zombie and don't finish it by downing it (with blood pool), the zombies health resets back to full the next time you enter that room. So it's better to either commit to downing it or dodge it. Otherwise it's a waste of bullets. That's enough, I won't say any more. Those are just some basic tips. I still play with tank controls and 4:3 aspect ratio, i also play RE4 even today on PS2, and i have PS4. Weird, isn't it? Yes, that is difficulty setting in this game: 1. Normal 2. Easy 3. Very Easy The are is no Hard mode until you finish the game.

Me too. Tank controls make more sense for fixed camera angles. When the camera angle changes, having the same direction on the controller suddenly move you a different direction is awkward. 4:3 also shows you everything while wide-screen cuts off part of the picture.
