You’ve got to love the Bonneville Salt 🧂 Flats. It’s so mysterious and majestic. It’s hard to believe that a lake used to thrive there and Salt Lake is a remnant of that also. I’d like to visit that place and thank you for the adventurous videos. This ancient lake was up too 1,000 feet deep and wow oh my and that’s crazy.

I-80 in Tooele County, UT is very scenic with the Bonneville Salt Flats seen there between the state line and near Great Salt Lake. SLC's metro area not only consists of Salt Lake County, UT, but also Tooele County, UT and that county is what I call the western outskirts of Metropolitan SLC.

Great drive! Have you heard that Great Salt Lake would have disappeared by 2027 if no action was taken, leading to dangerous high levels of toxic dust?

Fun Fact::: Between 1935 and 1970 the Bonneville salt flats recorded all the worlds land speed records. The fastest if which was in 1970, when Gary Gabelich’s rocket-powered Blue Flame peaked at 1,014.6 kph, making him the first to exceed 1,000 kph (621 mph).

@@Adventureswithtcs The salt flats still hold speed week in Aug. each year where more attempts are made in many classes. I went 10 years ago and while nobody broke any records there was an amazing amount of cars, trucks and motorcycles taking a shot at it. If you ever get the chance, it's well worth the trip. Safe travels my friend.
