To be fully efficient with your rod setup you need to take the overall weight max of your reel and devide that by how many friction section counts, then subtract that number from your reel weight and you get your actual effectiveness since you can't use full drag anyway. For example if you have a 70.5lb reel with 12 friction section counts(torbelino 11000). 70.5÷12 you get 5.875. Now you subtract that 5.875 from 70.5 you get 64.625.. 64.625lbs is the torbelino 11000s ACTUAL effectiveness, meaning you only need 65lb rod and line to be clear, and this is a direct result of taking away max drags. You heard this method here first! 😂 came up with it myself so I hope so

The formula is take reel weight÷number of friction counts, and that number will be how much each section is, then you can find any reels effectiveness at whatever friction count you have your reel on
