I've had a few people commenting to see if I can fix device. Well, if you're interested in having me try to fix your device, feel free to shoot me an email at fixmorewasteless@gmail.com. This isn't a paid service, just something I want to do to help those who need it. You'd be responsible for return shipping and any major parts like screens, so it's not a completely free service, but I'm not charging for the repair. Email me about your device and what the issue is and I'll let you know if I think I can help.

hi i want to ask how do you find the appropriate fuse because when i search it on aliexpress i dont know what i should pick
@FixMoreWasteLess8 ай бұрын
The amp rating of the fuse is really the most important part. Ideally you want the replacement to be the same amp rating, be that 400ma, 1amp, whatever it may be. As far as the voltage rating, it should be the same or higher. The PS2 slim supplies 12volts from the power brick so anything rated 12v or more should be good. So you could use a 1amp/16v fuse to replace a 1amp/4v fuse. Size is the only other consideration. If you can’t find the exact size you might be able to get away with a size bigger or smaller. Like how I used a smaller one at 1:30. Hope this helps some.

How do you know what fuses to replace them with? And where to get them from?
@FixMoreWasteLess9 ай бұрын
They’re marked on the board such as PS1, PS2 and they also have the part number underneath. You can see at the 3:40 mark what I mean. The number there gives an indication of the fuse rating - 1.6 amps. I google search the part number just to make sure and then buy the fuses from Aliexpress. Best place to reliably find them but the shipping does take a while. Let me know if you have any issues and I’ll try helping out.

In the future I would just remove the switch with hot air. Wouldn't have torn the pad and you still melted the switch with using the wick.
@FixMoreWasteLess8 ай бұрын
That’s a good idea. I don’t think I even had a hot air station when I made this one 😅

Where are you buying these new fuses
@FixMoreWasteLess Жыл бұрын
Aliexpress. I’ve had good luck finding what I need there. Prices are reasonable. Shipping times are long. I usually get things in 2-4 weeks.
@chaosblend431211 ай бұрын
just make sure you order at least 11$ worth of stuff at once or shipping will take insanely long

I tried once to remove that second lid switch buy it seems kapton tape wasn't enough to protect it from hot air xD So I jumpered those two points too in the end.

Your soldering iron is just awful!! It doesn't melt your solder, resulting in actually ripping components from the pcb and distroing the pads! From the beginning of the video, the first fuse you've removed it mechanicaly, no desolder. You should use low melt solder, quality flux and more practice, cause i can see your technique is not good!

Hii, we found your videos so rewarding, and were wondering if any prototype services may help? Such as custom PCBs, 3DP, CNC etc. If so, would love to supply freely and reach any YT collab together! (PCBWay luz)

Hi thanks for reaching out. I can't think of anything I need right now but if I do I'll let you know.
