Now that's advanced flying right there. I'm exhausted.

There's plenty of info on what computer you need to set up a sim like this but not much about what cockpit hardware you need, soooo what do I need to get a good cockpit setup for realistic training? Im a pilot but haven't flown since airspace was defined by TCA's and I need to re-learn how to talk on the radio and navigate I just inherited a 1968 arrow pa28 200rg (yes that's right, they made a few in 68) and I'd like to do most of my reorientation training in the sim before I show up at the flight school and start paying hundreds of dollars an hour for lessons in their rental arrow. Thanks!

Simplest thing would be to buy a yoke, quadrant, and pedals from Honeycomb; they're a popular brand right now. Also take a look at Saitek, or maybe Yoko if you want to spend money for hardware with a better feel.

Great video! I was trained to set 25 squared on climb and 22 or 23 inches with 2400 rpm for cruise.
@riscfuture3 жыл бұрын
You want to leave the MP full open for climb. Most engines have a mixture richening feature that engages at max MP, which is important for cooling the engine at very high power settings. This, plus there's not really any efficiency gained by reducing MP in the climb, means you shouldn't come back on the MP, only the RPM in the climb. For cruise, any power setting specified in the POH is acceptable. So you can check the cruise power tables to find the range of acceptable settings. It's much wider than simply 22/23" and 2400 RPM.

@@riscfuture The area we lived in and the type of flying i did with it, the 22/2400 seemed to always give the best numbers. These were a couple of older Arrows (1970s era) so maybe they had different engines and the 25 squared worked for climb. It was how the club instructors taught us to operate the aircraft. It's been a while since I flew one but miss flying them. I fly an Archer these days without a constant speed prop.

Great video, now if I only had the "X" and mfs2020....my dream is to learn to fly and all the details. So cool. Was there a MOD for this model, to "spruce" up the interior?

Is it me or does the thing stall way too early when dirtty? It should be like 56knots, but it falls out of the sky way above that and before a stall warning horn

Nav 1 ident....there is a minute switch below the yoke marked nav 1 and nav 2. Try if that works!

That just sets the navigation source for the autopilot.

is the aircraft easy to install into fs2020 is it automatically installed when you purchase.Thanks
@riscfuture Жыл бұрын
You purchase it from the Marketplace, and then you can install it from the app. You can also purchase it from the Just Flight website and download the installer.
