Hello and I subscribed as you are who I am looking for as a fellow binge eater though I have lost 150 lbs the last 14 months. I used to follow others but found they really weren't trying to get help or help themselves. I look forward to visiting again and until then Merry Christmas, 🎄🎁.

Okay, this is it. I am working on a plan, gathering props and recipes and making a grocery list because I want to do what you are doing! I get so happy for you and your successes and all of a sudden I am like hold on a minute……. Maybe I could be successful myself, so yes I am going to see what I can accomplish. As is the case with some others, I have quite a history of shipwrecks but still, in a tiny place in the back of my brain and heart I believe that I am not yet hopeless. You, Tammy are so particularly inspiring. The way that you speak your truths and give your followers the gift of respect…. Thankyou💕

For those of you interested in how I reduced my overeating: & a disclaimer I was never a binger and I was never seriously overweight but my BMI got up to about 28.3 for a minute. This is for every day over eating - not binge eating. That may bleed into the other. 1. When you get your food, take five deep breaths and remind yourself that the food is not going anywhere. No one is going to take it off you. 2. When you put the food in your mouth, make a point of chewing it slowly and feeling the food in your mouth. Not just tasting it. Feeling it. Crunch, soft, saucy, melty. Get the full sensory experience of the feel of it. Then taste it. Then you start to tell the different flavours and textures apart - the oil, sweet, salty, bitter and tangy. Some of it won’t be very nice which is why sometimes we swallow our food too quickly to get over the parts that are not so nice and some of it is so delicious we want to shovel in more food 3. Once each mouthful yields that full experience, you will find yourself satisfied with fewer mouthfuls. 4. Make a point of chewing at least 20 times before swallowing 5. You can do this at the start of a meal or snack. Or you can do this when you start over eat within a meal, you can slow yourself down and do this, and then after two or three bites you’ll find you’ve had enough and be able to put the rest away

When I forget to eat. And get too hungry. I crave junk. Sweet or salty stuff. Ugh. And something quick cuz I’m starving and don’t want to wait to cook something. Also why I don’t keep junk in the house I know that will be what I reach for. I’ve been doing meal preps the past few months that seemed to have helped me with the junk thinking lol.

Have a Merry Christmas, Tammy!! I can understand your dietician saying to make the food enjoyable and to eat enough. I would love to see you do without all the holiday junk food, though. That type of thing is triggering for my brain and makes me want more. I'm planning to have a full Christmas dinner and drink a hot drink instead of desert. That's what works for me to keep my brain calm. Hope you can continue to develop what works for you! I'm glad I found your channel. Thanks for sharing your progress!

Tammy Superstar! You're doing really well, girl. Surfing through your struggles. That's the way! The only thing I find hard to watch for me is when I see how a food is being judged by calories and not by how much my insulin will be spiked by it. If I drink a glass of orange juice on an empty stomach like I saw in your video the other day, or if I eat one of the buns you bought in the above video for Christmas, a little while later I will get jitters and anxious, even panic attacks because of the insulin spike and blood glucose dropping rapidly afterwards. My being anxious only stops again after I eat myself out of the glucose drop that follows such insulin spikes. For some reason chocolate is fine in my case. But I can hardly watch you buying these buns. I get jitters already just from looking at them 😂

A recommendation I have for your meals is try not to have a set time to eat but a set timeframe between meals so that way on the days you end up staying up too late you don’t stress about catching up eating your 3 meals. So if you go to bed by 5 and wake up at 2pm, eat and then set an alarm to eat 3 hours later and then 3 hours after that but the last meal being the smallest of course, preferably just high in protein, maybe on those days have a protein shake as your last meal and not just for breakfast.

Tammy, I have never rooted for anyone on the internet the way I wish for you to succeed on your journey, wherever it takes you. I love your vlogmas and wish you peace of the mind for the coming year. A cultural thing, but it makes me smile what passes as "good bread" in other countries - everything that comes in a bag would be considered meh bread in my country ;)

The reason why you feeling hungry has nothing to do with calores but with hormones ! So the whole idea of "eating too little" or too much doesn't really matter. I am surprised your dietitian hasn't mentioned that ? The main hormones that affect your satiety are Ghrelin and Leptin

MERRY CHRISTMAS Eve Tammy 🎄 I hope you are having a wonderful night 🕊️ and I hope everything is going well . I'm a little worried about you this video seemed a little bit off this time I am sending you strength and good vibes towards your depression and anxiety. Please don't take this the wrong way I never want to hurt your feelings in anyway but I just feel like the things you bought for a treat was worrying you or something it just didn't feel right. I know you have to learn to live with these things but I remember the last time it triggered a binge and if I'm not remembering wrong you said that you learned that you couldn't do that yet. I just want you to have a wonderful Christmas without any stress or temptation. I'm sorry if this is inappropriate to say to you and please delete if it upsets you . I just truly care and worry about you that's all . Sending you love and hugs 🤗💙🎄

I think for you would be beneficial to express emotions more in visible for others manner You have a lot of symptoms of directing your anger inwards or just trying to control emotions or anxiety like skin picking.
@TammyLemon.
@TammyLemon. Жыл бұрын
You are very right! I've always been someone that directed my emotions inwards in stead of outwards (eating, skin picking, nail biting etc ). This is one of the things I'm trying to learn and change through therapy. Although I am making progress it's so very slow. It's hard to change these things. But I'll get there! I always thought never getting mad and being able to "control" my emotions that way was a good thing. However, through my early twenties I realized... Maybe it's good and healthy to get mad sometimes or to be irritated by something and just react a little unreasonable every now and then. It's oke to be human! Haha I'm rambling. I'm mostly talking to myself here I guess. Thank you for reminding me, I really need that sometimes. Have a wonderful Christmas! ❤️ 🎄
@dr-mon-v3i
@dr-mon-v3i Жыл бұрын
@@TammyLemon. you are not talking to yourself I am very interested in what you think about this :) it is easy for a stranger to give such advices but I think that it would really benefit you. ( I personally also struggle with mental health but i got much better after years of therapy so I emphatise with your struggles) Another thing is "how to do it" :D Maybe you can start to just notice when you feel irtated/violated/stressed (skin picking would be very usefull here because it is visible indication that something is happening/ happened.)Then you can just try to express it more outwardly like writing down your thoughts and allow yourself to be angry, tell it to the person who made you angry or if it is too hard complain to somebody you trust, you can punch a pillow, scream, run or dance to some angry music. Sometimes it does not make sense for us to get angry (anger has to protect us from others to hurt us) but when we got angry by for example spilling something or we just cant change or situation we can just take deep breaths and mediate. Honoring our anger is really important, deeply hidden anger tell you a real story about how you were treated. It is easy sometimes to blame our anxiety on "overstimulation" which is sometimes true, but i think it is good to think about what you feel when you you for example pick your skin. You deserve to be angry and express your emotions so other dont cross your boundaries :)

The dietician said “a snack“. Meaning one …. You’re not going to an intuitive eating dietician are you? Telling someone with binge issues to indulge is horrible advice. You been binging … are you eating from your stash? If so then it’s not working to have a stash at all. Why buy so much more when you have a stash? I feel like your binging is getting worse since I started watching awhile ago. Maybe it’s because you post more often now? I think of all that junk as non food. It’s not nourishing your body at all. You will feel so much better after a few months of cutting it out. Might have sugar withdrawal at first. There is more to life then these purposely highly addictive chemical junk foods 😢.
@pricklemytickle
@pricklemytickle Жыл бұрын
Right? It's okay to share something special during the holidays with family and friends, but I think she's using the occasion and her dietician's advice as an excuse to hoard junk food. A cake or maybe one Christmas sweet you wouldn't otherwise buy should've been more than enough. It's really weird how Tammy has sweets stashed in her home, storage unit and now car. Don't even get me started on her considering to buy ben and jerry's, knowing that's a huge trigger for her. I wish she'd look back on this video and really think about these habits that eventually trip her over. Change won't come overnight, and she's clearly not ready to be surrounded by all these triggers yet as she's still binging often. It's not restrictive to enjoy a nice hearty Christmas meal of whole foods.
