Glad your getting better Benjamin. We have had a crazy winter here in NC. We have had weeks of 80 degree weather just to wake up one morning to frost and then a ton of rain. Trout are finally looking up and willing to eat on the surface, but only when the water recedes. Our smallies are back in the rivers and smashing sub surface lures/ flies now. Won't be long and the topwater action will be fire. Thanks for the update and keep them coming.

Dang man sorry to hear about the health challenges that’s rough glad you’re back! I spent the day Saturday on new water tossing a Mag Draft to northern and lost it… had some fantastic action on new water which was super exciting

I moved from the U.P. to Pensacola for a variety of reasons. It has been bittersweet. For nearly 30 years I returned back home for a couple of weeks to fish, sometimes hunt, and visit the places I love and the ones that love me back, as much as the people. Now it seems the U.P. is changing almost as fast as Florida. Don't take anything for granted. Share the little things. In the end, they are the things that matter.

Talking about small things. In your last video, I was literally laughing as the rain turned to sleet, snow, then freezing rain. I felt you. I have been there so many times. It is so damn yooperish. It is these ridiculous situations I, and I'll bet; a lot of your yooper expats miss most. By the way, those brookies were definitely not little things.

Glad you’re making a full recovery. I had a similar surgery 5 years ago and all is well. Very scary for me being a dentist. My hands fall asleep easily depending on head/neck angle on the pillow while sleeping at times but that seems to be the worst of it. Good luck and hope to fish with you again.

Started off with March steelhead, April has been the walleye run out of erie, next will be catfish, bass, pike and gills. Trout too.

Love the channel! Wish I fished the UP more but me a couple of buddies do a week on a river. We have been going up in July or Aug this year we're going the last week of Sept hoping to find some big brookies! Glad you feeling better!

I’m about 4 hours south of Iron River, Michigan. I am going up May 5th-7th this year, because I wanted avoid the high water levels the recent openers have produced. Sounds like the rivers aren’t just high, they are flooded! Do you think that second weekend is worth it? Should I push it back another week or so?
