Hi. Wren had silver wheels for non trailer wheels which looked great but caused arcing on tight bends. Hornby Dublo just had the dull ones. The Dull ones dont arc as much againsr cylinders and I guess people swap em for the earlier Hornby Dublo ones or just replace them with Plastic ones....Only GL Wren can get away with a GWR livered Standard Tank! He indeed a Genius as it looks great! Thanks Again

For cleaning through tight areas such as the Brush retaining holes a Pipe Cleaner is your best friend.

Would this apply to the vertical motor duchess steam locomotives have plus the other vertical motor locomotives?

Hello, there are differences but nothing major. I believe different armature bearings are fitted to earlier chassis but so long as you adjust the armature end float roughly to about 5 thou up and down all should be well. Also you need to be able to remag the motor too. Thanks for watching, all the best to you

@@MrSnooze my Hornby dublo city of London does run and luckily there is no dirt on the magnets however I don't own a remagnitiser so I do try to service them without taking them apart

Hi, Excellent and informative video, many thanks. I have the same model HD 2-Rail ‘8033’, boxed and in lovely condition. It is a bit hesitant in reverse and it has the adjusting screw at the back of the magnet however, I have no idea what it does or what the adjustment is. Hello Gordon, thanks for looking at the video. I often find a careful cleaning of the commutator and brushes helps with the type of hesitancy you have. The adjustable magnet feature on your loco is something I hope to show in a future video. Best regards to you

Hello Mike. If it's very noisy try easing the pole pieces away from the armature a little. Also check the armature bearings aren't worn out. I bet you get it fixed. Best regards to you
