Welcome to The Wagon. In this episode, we get trains running on the OO gauge layout. Sorry there isn’t any O gauge coaches this time. I will make sure we make some progress on them in the next instalment

Superb. Another top video, you have made the wiring look very straightforward. You can put any combination of coaches you like on that old Deltic and it will still look fabulous. Well done, keep up the good work.

Hi there. Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah I had completely forgotten that still had the radio on. I normally have it on when I'm working in the wagon and occasionally forget to turn it off.

Great video again, Steve, and it's interesting for my grandson and I, as we will be having our first attempts at soldering when he starts his 009 layout. I think a little bit of practice on some old track first will be a good idea. My grandson has just filmed a rock concert and posted on his Dylington Model Railway channel. It's turned out quite well if you get a chance have a look. Anyway, it's an enjoyable video looking forward to your next offering...Cheers James 🙂👍

@the-wagon-Steve Hi Steve, I will pass on your comments to my grandson tonight when I see him. I see you've subscribed to his channel as well. Thank you for that it's very much appreciated, and we are looking forward to seeing your 009 layout whenever you get round to it. We are building the baseboard this weekend and hope to make a start on it over the Easter school holidays... Cheers James 🙂👍

Hey there. Thank you. Yes it is a Southern Pride 312. I managed to get the last two and traded one to get the other one made by a professional. It’s one of my favourite models

Hi Steve, Great content again, especially the Wagon, it is a real credit to your DIY skills that you took it from a total wreck to a brilliant home for your hobbying activities. I am still 12 - 18 months away from having the space (and time) to start on my OO gauge layout, so I will be watching your updates on a regular basis. Also is your Lanc an RC model or a 1/32 model kit ? I have plans to create a Bomber diorama space permitting in my retirement man cave once procured.. Keep up the great content Kindest regards Mark

Hey Mark. Thank you buddy. The wagon is my pride and joy. I’m so very proud of it. And it cost less than you’d think. There is always time to start modelling Mark. I have two jobs. Modelling is my escape from the stress of life. Start with some small building kits and work your way up to bigger stuff. The Lancaster is a foam flying model. I talk about it in my second video. I love my warbirds and the lanc is one of my favourites. If I could fit something along the lines of an aviation museum on the layout, I would. I have plenty of kits to build one day. Thank you. Regards. Steve

Tx Steve, to be fair I also have an N gauge test layout that I was converting to from OO ( size constraints) but I have now realised that I have too big fingers and my eyesight is not getting better.. So I am switching back to OO, might even dabble in O gauge having seen EC's Black 5 model.. Meanwhile I will persevere with my little N gauge project so that my skills will have hopefully improved by the time I get back to my OO project ! I run my own business so time is not a problem but space is hence the N gauge project. I also agree about working on the layout does provide a great release from dealing with day to day issues. I retire in Aug 25 so will be full steam ahead then. I also enjoy aircraft modelling hence my question about your Lanc, I have watched all your videos but could not remember the origin of your Lanc. tx again.@@the-wagon-Steve

nice nice to see trains running ,love to see how you wired up your lift out section .I was wondering did you cut the copper ties on lift out section as you seemed to solder both rails to on long copper strip .I used a hinged lift up section as that was easier for me to wire up.. thank you for sharing your progress .. john
@the-wagon-Steve
@the-wagon-Steve 5 ай бұрын
hey John. I did cut the copper sleepers..... well .... not all of them. When it came time to power the layout up i had a dead short. It took me a while to figure out that it was one of the copper clads. Everything ran well after that. I am planning on replacing the lift out section with a hinged section. that will be for another episode.
