My son Manny is working on his first real car, a 1993 Honda Civic EX coupe. New parts can be expensive so we took a trip down to the auto salvage yard where you pull parts yourself... Great experience! It can be very rewarding to fix and maintain your own vehicle.

Great video. Nothing like a kid doing a project on a budget. He should be proud that he is fixing it up himself. My son has always liked helping me work on the cars. He's 16 now and about to get his license. He can't wait to dig into his own vehicle. Junkyards are like going a treasure hunt looking for parts. I love it when I find the part I'm looking for, it is such a good feeling.

Man you guys have a great junk yard to pick from, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in that much order. The last one I went to had the cars stacked upon each other and of coarse the one vehicle I needed to look in for parts was either on the bottom or the very top. Somehow I managed to get what I needed, awesome car building action. Finding all those parts was awesome to see!

Great to see your boys taking an interest in owning/ maintaining a car. I read an article recently that stated that owning a first car doesn't have the same allure that it did in the past due to a greater interest in game systems, tablets, Iphones, etc... I hate sounding old but kids miss out on a chance to learn some skills. Great job with the wiring Manny! Even the rugrats learned something I'm sure.

I'm 18 and I know that I'm not a kid by law but I just wanted to say that ever since I was younger I was heads and tails in love with cars, there was something that fastantied me about it, I've been subscribed to this channel for sometime now, and what got me into car mechanics is that I thought to myself, hey cars are cool, and I also like hands on stuff, so this channel that I watch it know makes me think to myself, I wanna be a mechanic.
