if you keep the freight train on wait until full the bar that says "shipment" on the steel factory will not rise and the factory will not upgrade to the next lvl to produce more... at this time on that lvl it's operating at capacity, so no matter how much stuff you feed it it won't produce any more than that. You need to up the frequency of trains on that line to make the factory able to upgrade it self.

I've had some success in cities using 4 lane roads with bus lanes, and as trucks/buses get priority at traffic lights they can swoop past traffic jams, also judicious use of elevated roads and roundabouts and a bulldozer (better roundabouts -mod) to ferry cars away from or over transport/Cargo routes. If they choose to snarl up elsewhere in the city well that's their problem. I had three cities join into one giant metropolis so I have recently been experimenting with putting a huge 400m 10 track train terminus surrounded by pedestrian areas fed by a very large 8 route bus station and in conjunction with the methods outlined above, it all seems to work rather well. Cheers I am enjoying this series feller.

to the Colonel. if you want the steelmill to produce more steel you need to hook up more industry that demands stel to the steelmill. that way it will lvl up and start producing more steel. ferrying more coal and ironore to the steelmill at this point doe not affect the steel production. the stelmill only produces what the demand is.. so atm only the goods factory needs steel, and thats why the steel production is only 100. hope this helps :) love the vids and streams :)

I watch a video today from Adekyn playing Mashinky (rail game ) and he made me laugh, when he was deleting track with the comment "and now I'll do it Colonel Failure style and bulldoze everything". He spoke highly of you and recommended that people should watch your channel. He himself is more into Railway Empire

Is it possible to build stations underground? If not, a trench next to those buildings everyone wants to go to with a station in it will do the trick hopefully? Reroute the green line away from the shinkansen route and use that road you bulldozed a few times (and that currently has no traffic on it) to get rid of the traffic as a right of way into town. A nice station just long enough for the longest train on the wrong side of the river, bridge over the river and then plunging into the underworld of Shikoku. On the other side, go down to the original end and make a branch going into the big station, perhaps with another doubledecker set of platforms. Quite normal for big cities in Japan it seems. And remember, you still have half of the green line track available for a nice bucolic diesel line up that other valley to the left of the high speed line. Has a few towns too I believe.

only because you said someone in the comments would say this: The 800 series (800系) is a Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train type operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) on the Kyushu Shinkansen high-speed rail line. Built by Hitachi, the trains were introduced on the Tsubame services from March 2004. -wikipedia

Throw a good storage building on that truck stop for the steel transfer and it will hold more. Also you can improve the speed of loading if you have a one way entrance for the trucks to enter from the right side as the truck stop appears at 3:07, then convert the other side to 1 way exit. Trucks will drive in on the right, stop and load, and drive out the other side instead of drive past, enter, drive a loop, then exit. Space is tight, so I am not sure if you will fit a freight storage building and the 1-way entrance road on the end. The only reason I commented about this is because the train was unloading very slowly, basically hitting the limit of the station transfer. If there wasnt a truck there to load the train would have chilled in the station for ages, basically as long as it would take the truck stop to take steel and destroy it for having too much stored.

and for the shinkansen to be any profitable you'll need to fix traffic on that city... its preventing the passengers to the to the station and take the train... you need to sort the roads out and very much stick several times the number of busses you have on the lines, and extend the cover to other areas of the city

Not sure if it helps but to solve the congestion problem, upgrade the bus and lorry routes to 4 lane road and then upgrade to bus lane. Your vehicles will use the clear bus lanes and the car traffic just continues to clog up.

There isn’t any real traffic management to master in this game. All you can do is ensure your passenger transport network is good enough for the denizens to meet their needs to go to commercial and industrial zones and to get back to residential. The better your bus, tram and rail network is, the less ai traffic you will have.

I recall last episode's reminiscence of how Train Fever would leave tiny gaps in the track😏 No, actually with the way everything turns white when you're setting up the lines it makes it almost impossible to see anything; I nearly missed the bumper the first time you went past it.

@@rickboivin7732 TBH, these kind of series warrant an hour long episodes. The 3 and outs, could be 20 minutes long if he wants. But never really got the whole "that is the optimum minute" crowd on YT. As there are channels much bigger that do 2 hour+ and seem to do fine...

May I add ( as you give a darn) that Shinkansen trains don't run on this Island in Japan as the regions is too small, mountainous and not populated enough for JR to make a profit. The train that you selected and the name on the side isn't the manufacture but rather the line name or area that that train runs. In this case you selected the red & white Shinkansen that runs the Island of Kyushu (Koo-Shoe) and yes the trains are made by Hitachi.
