I love to see the people who have spent 1000's of hours to bring something like this to life. It's why I always have sat through the credits of any film (or game) to the very end. Even before the Marvel stinger was a thing. It's a recognition of how many people off-screen it takes working altogether to create what you just enjoyed.

Agreed. I won’t be getting my legendary copy till Christmas but I’m still super excited. I know it won’t get great reviews but I mean I thought elden ring was garbage and it got great reviews while evil west which was far better got 7s proving game journalists are biased.

I have currently 0 hours available each week to sit down and play games but I've been following these guys since the XCOM development interviews and I really hope everybody will have as much fun playing Midnight Suns as I had playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown 10 years ago.

It's way better than the mobil esque turn based you find on your phone. Firaxis are THE top turn based strategy devs out there in the west. For Japan it's Sqeenix with the tactics ogre and ff tactics series but yeah these types of games tend have amazing stories and lots of well written dialogue with player choice galore of you're into that sort of thing

This and Baldur's Gate 3 are basically the only big budget games I'll have bought day 1 in the past 10 years lol. To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not that into Marvel (but I do love me some Spidey and I've a small fondness for some of the other characters here too, like Nico and Wanda-when-she's-not-character-assassinated-by-a-bad-movie and the Strange-Iron Man dynamic), but the gameplay looks up my alley and then some, and I don't just mean the combat, the Abbey stuff looks really really fun too! I really hope there's a lot of narrative branches to explore!

If you wind up liking this one, I recommend you checking out Fights In Tight Places. More basic graphics, a grid system and the moves are ALSO cards. But it's also what got me sold on Midnight Suns in the first place.

Just finished the game... I don't even have it in me to go through with NG+ because I can't recreate or will tarnish what I felt while playing this game. I really hope something else continues this story and the game is bigger and better. The modding community is budding for this and it's awesome, at least someone is keeping it alive. I was devastated by how it ended... Like I had a whole panic attack and then got drunk and just started to cry cause I really felt at home in the Abbey... Thank you for such a wonderful experience Firaxis, I will never forget this game. I literally ran into it after a psychedelic trip, it told me to play this game, a game I didn't even know existed and I can say I was moved and not disappointed. I will say, the graphics were garbage, but the work done with the writing really soothed that burn.

I was sad to find out the release wasn't on older generations of consoles (xbox1/ps4). I hear it's slated for a later release but something that is supposed to entice marvel fans and develop the genre of strategy games should have been released on all consoles especially considering how finding a ps5 or next gen Xbox is a real financial situation. I hope older consoles get this soon :/

Well venom is part of the dlc and supposedly each character comes with a story mission or two I believe. This game encourages replays though as you can't max friendships with everyone in on playthrough
