Hayato doesnt really suck. Hes not the best or the worst but hes really good imo. Especially with a raging demon (which can be combo'd into) that does 50% damage and a super that allows him infinite meter for a brief period of time. He's a really dangerous character. Not to mention having target combos that you cant recover from once he starts it, and it allows him to combo into much of his supers including his infinite meter system.

The thing is that in high level play, you don't want combos doing 50%, you want to have touch of death, and I don't remember his assist being that good either.

As for emulators, look up fightcade. should give you some leads. As for owning an actual copy of the game you can either get a previously owned xbox 360 with a copy of the game, find your local arcade with the game, get a dreamcast, or a ps2 copy of the game. It's pretty hard to find a physical copy tho :x

It’s not on fightcade, but you can play it pretty painlessly through an emulator called demul. There’s lots of resources for how to set it up if you just look online.

Five years late, but the AI might be blocking your attacks so frequently because you have infinite time. I know at least in the DreamCast port, if you set the time to infinite, the AI just blocks *everything* almost like its punishing you for playing with no time limit.
