Fêtes Galantes was an absolute dream! I woke up once morning and hated the one I was halfway finished with and started all over right before the event and stressed sewed all the way until the day before I left.

I hear you about the trimming. My period is pre-WW1, and the lingerie is the same. An hour to make the basic petticoat, 24 hours hand sewing the insertion lace, ribbon, froofy lace, more ribbon, embroidery.... But it's the avec that makes it special

Watching talented people like you makes me want to do sewing. We had a sewing machine back then (owned by my grandma) she even made a dress for me to wear to my school event, but sadly she stopped because she was busy doing other things and she was getting old, she probably lost some interest or was tired to stay up for a long time (which is understandable). Anyway, I want to makes dresses that will fit me, but we do not have a sewing machine anymore 😭
