I do miss going to the" shows". Thanks for reminding me why I went. I think it was just to get together with other modelers and share ideas and tips. Then there is the contest ---- well just outstanding work, just like the work in this video. Thanks for sharing!

Nice show coverage, liked the Chrysler Arsenal factory diorama. Last year I enjoyed JAXCON more than ACME.🙂

I love going to Jaxcon. Since I live in Florida and Jaxcon is the first show of the year, it really helps kick off the FL show season.

Its amazing how a detailed eye can catch a mistake. The F-4S @4:47 is beautifully done. An amazing job, but, there is a mistake. F-4S had BOTH leading edge flaps and leading edge slats. This model just has the leading edge slats but the portion of the wing nearest to fuselage should have been a flap in the down position (since he has the slats deployed). Only a Phantom Phanatic type nerd would catch that. but still an error.

Beautiful models. I recently restarted model making after stopping in the nineties, I'm amazed of al the craftsmanship, parts, tools and information available these days. Also the kits are much more detailed and better.

Me too, it was quite a sabbatical, but more like Rip Van Winkle, ( since the 90's).. I thought it would be like riding a bicycle but not true It's all changed, from paints, scale, detail, weathering and cost of kits. I'm having a tough time getting started again. One positive thing is I found my stash and was extremely pleased some if my unbuilt kits were "collectables ". The RC mobel shop in town just now started stocking some plastic kits and supplies. That will help. Otherwise it was shopping the internet and that's not easy. Good luck on the restart.

@@c123bthunderpig Thanks. I started during the pandemic, so not really that recent. Thankfully I still had my airbrush and a lot of tools I also use for my other hobbies. I started with 1/72 F104 which I stil had lying around since the nineties. Then I proceeded with a limited edition of an 1/350 aircraft carrier on which my father sailed, I'm stil working on that one. My main problem is that every time I make a part I learn something new which causes me to do it again to make it better. The thing I do now but didn't in the nineties was to really dive in all the information I can find about the ship. It gives an extra dimension to this hobby and gives me more appreciation of the ship and people on board. What kind of kits are you working on?

@@jeroenk3570 good idea on the research, I'm going to give that a try. I love the 104, ( the German Air Force called it the Widow Maker - due to the dihedral angle of the wing) , and you had to land "hot" but awesome interceptor. However they tried to make her a ground support aircraft in SEA bad idea. I build mostly WW2 aircraft and " Century Class" aircraft loved the metal finishes. I did order the special edition Eduard Camel and Spitfire kits plus two Airfix Lancasters they made a radial engine version and Merlin engine, wanted to build both side by side. However when I opened the Spitfires I said OMG what have I done :-) There were so many sprues and parts I fainted and said these are definitely later builds. I like 1/48 aircraft, 1/72 bombers, I have built 1/48 scale bombers those are big enough for me. These 1/32/24/16 scale are insane price and detail wise. It'll take me at least a year to get up to that level again. I built my fathers B24J,with hand made nose art back in the 80's, the 1/48 Monogram Kit in a diroma format with crew and hand made PSP, pierced steel planking and a T28, he loved those . Oh, back to history of the model. Eduards does an incredible job on providing full color images and decals on their Professional and special edition kits. You usually get two kits in one. One of my many objectives is to build a model of John Magee author of High Flight Spitfire, Way back in the day Aurora tried to make chrome plastic models. They looked great but you couldn't use puddy to fix seam lines. On my stash I also found about 8 models started but not finished, they are going to be my "paint mules". I did buy some entry level kits at Hobby Lobby they are screw together kits starting at 8 year old level. Sounds extreme but they really help get the feel back. Styrene Heaven has helped a lot with getting to know what's current and how to use them. A couple of the model video guys go way too far for me on all this washing and weathering. I'm limited to supplies right now and don't know how these guys use a dozen or so paints just to weather. Sorry to ramble here, I was feeling like Tom Hanks in his movie Castaway its great to know someone else in the same " boat". One more item, I need to check my airbrush out too. I used to use Humbrol paints, but these Model Color Vallejo seem to popular with Tamiya in there too, Good luck on your restart, Blue Skies for now.

Incredible creativity and talent, surprised to see vehicles from my era, SEA. especially the PSP, I used to have to make my own, I guess its probably in a kit now. The B2 was amazing , even more so if vacuum form . The last ship diorama hopefully won a prize because of the way they showed the break away of the resin water. Just restarting the hobby, its more like the first time building. Had to buy some of those entry level kits That say 8 +, just to get the feel back. While this video was awesome, it made me realize I built in another universe.

The Sherman tank factory is is good it's mind numbing how much work went into that. And then..."You're going to need a bigger boat" the Jaws diorama gets an A+ for creativity. Everyone who displayed did a marvelous job. All were very good.
