How much thinning if at all for the testors glosscote lacquer if any to airbrush? I have 4 models of civilian 747 1/144 from early 70's.

I know it would be an expensive ask, and modelling is expensive enough as it is, but has anyone actually tried Culture Hustle's Blackest Black 4.0 and Silveriest Silver paints in these jobs/projects, even as just an experiment for a youtube video?
@StyreneModelersHaven2 күн бұрын
Never even heard of those before...
@wirralnomad2 күн бұрын
@@StyreneModelersHaven You should look them up, they also make the pinkest pink etc, the company is "Culture Hustle". There is also a channel that sprays cars different colours in which they have used Culture Hustle's Blackest Black 4.0, I think that they may also have used their Silveriest Silver too, but I cannot confirm at this time if that is the case. I believe that they may work well regarding certain areas of modelling.

Would gloss varnish for miniature painting help? Also, I am trying to find a way to create my own stencils. Tiny ones. Wanting to put leaf patterns on a tau armor, from warhammer.
@StyreneModelersHaven9 күн бұрын
I'm not very good at figure painting so not sure of the techniques for gloss varnish for figures. Stencil cutters can't cut very small stencils. About the smallest they can cut is .25 inch in size and that depends on what's being cut.
@itsio71887 күн бұрын
@StyreneModelersHaven no I mean, would gloss varnish, which is used by miniature painters, help your technique? 1/4" isn't very big. Fallout hobbies makes some small stencils, I'm just not sure how I could do the same and others have.

Great technique. In order to avoid bleeding around the tape, once you have masked up the part, first spray a light base colour. That’ll seal the edge of the tape and then you can spray the checkers colour. Cheers.

@ yeah in 2023 they bought 7 million of the next generation of hot moulding equipment, but its taking a while to get them on the market as each kit has to have its die plates recast to match the new detailing available. i think by 2026 the entire range will be completed. i predict a good future for them. it was hornby who funded the upgrade.

The CA tip is a great idea! Never tried that until now and works great! CA can be a PIA to sand if accelerator is used to speed drying but letting CA cure naturally in ambient temperature it sands nice. Thanks for the tip!

Way too over complicated. I just sprayed a P-51 with Vallejo metallics. Simply primed and painted as I would any other model. Looks amazing. I even painted one wing gloss black before applying the metallic to see if it mattered. Didn’t make a difference. Way too much work for the end result.

I’m so glad KZbin actually threw me a recommendation that’s totally my bag. Who doesn’t love any of the three V-bombers, this was a real treat to watch. I had originally thought I would just listen to the build whilst getting on with the chores but I was sucked in by your videography of the build, your voice over of the processes and marvelled at the many techniques used that I had to take a break and avidly watch from start to finish. IMO it’s an epic build. So much so that I’ve liked and subbed and will be working my way through your back catalogue. Sincerely thanks for all the effort that you poured into this build.
