❤ WIC has come a long way since I got it. It was 25 years ago, no 26 years ago. And you could get no fruits and vegetables. And I dare say that $10 worth of fruits and vegetables in 2023 is not enough money. It should at least be $20.❤

Yess I agree , I wish it would’ve been $20 so I could get more fruit because my kids love fruit . They use to give me $25 on fruit then they decreased it .

I get $44 right now of fruit and veggies, probably because i’m pregnant. they probably have different amounts depending on the age of the child or if it’s a mother.

@@stefaniedlc5454 I didn't know that they had different amounts. And I really wouldn't be surprised. To be perfectly honest with you. You should at least get $50 work their fruits and vegetables. Since they are extremely important to a human's dietary plan.

@@lovingtiffani they do! i have a friend with multiple little and she gets like $80 just in fruits and veggies. & honestly true it’s not enough, But wic is suppose to help not cover everything unfortunately

@@stefaniedlc5454 I'm so happy to hear that. When I was receiving WIC the options we had were the hi, empty caloric options. I'm glad to see that the federal, and state governments, are increasing the value of the WIC voucher so that people can get better quality foods. They're all supplement programs, however for a very long time these programs were forcing families to buy the most unhealthiest food and that influence came from the companies themselves Government has great influence over businesses. And since businesses pay for politicians campaigns, they also have the means to increase the value of the WIC vouchers so that people can get better quality foods. If you have a family, such as myself, that has a type 1 diabetic family member, people that have religious dietary needs, medical dietary needs, back in my day a lot of the things on the WIC vouchers we could not use. Other countries have managed to prioritize health over profits. Unfortunately, America is not one of those countries
