They make for an interesting contrast with Starlight Glimmer later on. Starlight Glimmer preached absolute equality, a world where nobody could get hurt by being inferior to somebody else, but ultimately that turned her society into a formless grey blob where everyone was equally terrible at everything and nobody could lift anyone up. The Dazzlings preach for absolute individuality, a world where everyone's talent is properly recognized, but they did so in a way that encourages people to push others down to rise above. Both had a good point at the core of their argument, but pushed it to an extreme that was harmful to the people around them. And ultimately, neither of them actually cared about their respective message, simply using it to manipulate others to their own ends, as it is very often the case in real life as well when it comes to people advocating for the furthest extremes of the political spectrum. A pretty interesting and nuanced message coming out of a kids' show.

Dude I remember when Nostalgia Critic still was a thing and I bought a DVD of this film just to make fun of it, of course bumb I haven't noticed there was only Polish dubbing before I wasted my cash on it. (i am Polish). Of course I pirated the whole thing, the problem is that the music didn't sucked. In fact it's less shitty than most of the stuff you get on music TV stations (yes they are still very much a thing in Poland).

This movie now turns 10 years old today and I've yet to see the whole thing outside of clips, but from what I have seen......I won't be disappointed! Especially because my girl, DJ Pon-3, actually has importance to the plot and aids our heroes in saving the day.....which can't be said for the other background characters.
