Nice video with many thought provoking ideas. Tidying up the wiring, placing a skirt along the underside of the layout and giving the area the layout occupies a sprucing up. Some of these ideas will be looked at here. Just to share a quick tip, simple wire nuts work great for assembling electrical connections. They are used in our homes in the walls for making connections. They come in many sizes. As you install wiring it is a good idea to make a schematic of what was wired up to refer to later if troubleshooting is needed. Thank you for the ideas and for sharing.

Very timely. I’m going to learn from your mistakes. I’m in the process of getting my layout together and it looks like I’m going to be doing a lot of leveling before I start doing any track or wiring. Thanks again for the videos and what you do for the hobby.

Hi Austin. I think 99% of train guys do this exact thing lol. I know I replaced flooring and painted the walls and finally added LED lighting in the ceiling. 96.3% finished but had to start moving the layouts. So we all do it! Great video! Love your videos brother!

I went back and checked, was wondering what you use to secure the control buttons down? It looks like standard screws? I think I will have to emulate the thin shelf Idea for buttons myself it will make wiring alot simpler for me I think

I used drywall screws....maybe not ideal but I've got a mess of them so why not?
